Baby Day at The Alamo Drafthouse –  Movies before 2 p.m. The lights are up a bit, the sound is down a bit so moms and dads can head to the movies without the babies even knowing that they were at the movies. Infants are welcome to these shows, and of course, are allowed in for free. Take some time for yourself, pack up the kids, and head out to the Alamo Drafthouse for some much needed entertainment! Family Night: Felting Craft (Bee Cave) – 5:30 p.m., Make colorful acorns for decoration, bowls to use, and balls to use for cat toys or jewelry, all out of wool with felting artist, Barbara Attwell. We will start by layering wool fibers in a design, adding warm, soapy water, and then work it into shapes with lots of rubbing and rolling. The wool is vibrantly colorful, strong, and the process is fun. Felting is the same process that has been used to make yurts, hats, and shoes for over a thousand years. Create Your Own: Bison Hide Painting – 11-11:45 a.m., Kids and families will make and take home their own artifacts in this art workshop. Each workshop features a short talk followed by hands-on art making. Ideal for families with children ages six and up, this experience is about 40 minutes in length. Austin Duck Derby - 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., The ducks are coming to Austin, again! The Second Annual Austin Duck Derby will feature 10,000 yellow adopted rubber ducks launched into the Lady Bird Lake which will race to the finish line winning prizes for their adopters. Proceeds from every duck adopted benefit the Austin Boys and Girls Club Foundation, a non-profit organization which supports and provides valuable assistance to the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Austin Area which operate 22 clubs. Austin Symphony Concerts in the Park – 7:30 p.m. Each Sunday, a different ensemble of the Austin Symphony will be featured at the Hartman Park, located on the grounds of the Long Center.
