Shakespeare on the Farm: The Tempest – Friday, October 24 and Saturday, October 25 at 7:30 p.m. Present Company presents Shakespeare’s classic tale of love, magic, and one helluva hurricane. Promoting the philosophy of accessible and sustainable art, Shakespeare on the Farm is a FREE event, but a suggested donation of $10-$20 helps support the event and the artists that create it. Guests are encouraged to bring a blanket or short chair and a picnic, although snacks and donation-based cocktails will be available. Suitable for all ages. Pioneer Farms Haunted Trails- Friday, October 24 and Saturday, October 25, from 7-10 p.m. Experience Halloween like nowhere else in Texas! This year’s theme will be “Disappearance,” featuring a haunted trail where guests will help search for missing loved ones who vanished without a trace from the Sprinkle Corner village, at the hands of legendary Creatures of the Night. Admission is $12 per person. Reservations are not necessary. Hayrides and fortune telling booths available for extra fee. Food and drinks will be on sale in the Spook Town entrance village. Barton Hill Farms Fall Festival and Corn Maze- Saturday, October 25, from 10 a.m. – 10 p.m. and Sunday, October 26, from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Barton Hill Farms is set amongst 100-year-old cottonwood trees, rolling grassy hills and the picturesque Colorado River. The Fall Festival & Corn Maze is the perfect setting to let your kids enjoy true outdoor entertainment, including rides, games, a corn maze, pumpkin patch, local vendors and farm animals. The Hawaiian Falls Pfall Pfestival (Pflugerville)- Friday, October 24, from 3-9 p.m.; Saturday, October 25, from 10 a.m.- 7 p.m.; Sunday, October  26,  from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Visitors from the local community and across the region will be entertained with a variety of games, craft stations, activities, live music, fall food favorites and more while strolling through our decorated grounds. Additional festival highlights include Family Fall Photo Opportunities, Daily Monster Mash Dance Party, Bounce Houses, Do It Yourself Take-Home Craft Stations, Family Adventure Trail Spooky Maze of Fun, and Trunk or Treat on Halloween. A Year With Frog and Toad- Saturday, October 25 at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. and Sunday, October 26 at 2 and 4:30 p.m. Arnold Lobel’s well-loved characters hop from the page to the stage in this Tony-nominated musical. Follow two great friends waking from hibernation, planting gardens, raking leaves, sledding and learning life lessons along the way. Evergreen Farms Pumpkin Hunt in Elgin- Saturday, October 25, from 10 a.m.- 5 p.m. and  Sunday, October 26, from 1-5 p.m. The Pumpkin Hunt is a family-friendly event where children of all ages can enjoy fall activities. All activities are ongoing throughout the day, allowing families to customize their experience at the farm. Pumpkins of all sizes will be available for purchase. The premier event, the Pumpkin Hunt, includes a wagon ride into the Christmas tree fields where mini pumpkins are hidden in the trees. Afterward, enjoy pumpkin decorating on the pavilion along with the other activities and games: maze, firetruck ride, train ride, face painting and more. Fall Fun at Sweet Berry Farm- Saturday, October 25, 8:30- 5:30 p.m. and Sunday, October 26. 1-5 p.m. Harvest the fall fun at Sweet Berry Farm with corn mazes, Berry Bouncers, pumpkin painting, stuff your own scarecrow, hay rides, train rides, ice cream, and lots more. Texas Book Festival- Saturday, October 25 and Sunday, October 26. There are hundreds of author sessions and panels, live music on both days, children’s activities, cooking demos, a Lit Crawl, food, drinks and more. For the kids, HEB Children’s Chapter will feature the Children’s Read Me a Story Tent, a Children’s Entertainment Tent, and Children’s Activity Tent. One highlight this year will be the Storybook Fashion Show, in which kids will dress up like their favorite characters and walk the runway. Some of returning favorites include magician Ken Cummins, the Biscuit Brothers, and Joe McDermott. Shipwrecked in 4D- Saturday, 12:30 p.m. Shipwrecked is a new 4D immersive theater experience produced by the Bullock Texas State History Museum in conjunction with award-winning production house Cortina Productions. Shipwrecked follows the perilous journey of the French explorer Robert Cavelier, Sieur de La Salle who sailed west to establish a colony at the mouth of the Mississippi River in 1684. Commissioned by King Louis XIV, the expedition could have given the French a stronger presence in North America if successful, but piracy, poor navigation, and murder eventually doomed the expedition. In response, Spain renewed its interest in what would become Texas, changing the course of history. Dramatizing the story of La Salle’s ill-fated venture, the film reveals the personalities and struggles that beset the colony, all through the eyes of one of the few survivors of the expedition, 14-year old Pierre Talon. Texas Spirit Theatre at Bullock Museum, 1800 N. Popovich and the Voice of the Fabled American West- Sunday, 3:15 p.m. An ex circus legend, known as Popovich, is struggling as a street performer but content to come home to his junkyard full of furry friends. After a disingenuous neighbor surreptitiously calls animal control on him, Popovich must find a way to stay true to his calling, and save his loyal family of animal friends from a sad fate. Understanding the brevity of the situation, Popovich and his animal buddies use all their circus tricks to save their home and stay together. The whole cast of Popovich and the Voice of the Fabled American West will be in attendance, including Rex the dog and Sebastian the cat who will be performing at the film screening. Spooktacular at the Bullock –  5-8 p.m. Discover the spooky side of Texas at this family-friendly Halloween extravaganza, featuring performances, games, interactive activities, art, and more for kids ages five and up. Touch a Truck (Round Rock)- 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. The City of Round Rock’s Parks and Recreation Department will host a FREE Touch a Truck event for kids of all ages, giving children a unique opportunity to explore vehicles of all types – public service, emergency, utility, construction, transportation, delivery and just plain cool – all in one place. Participants will be allowed to touch, climb on and ask questions about their favorite trucks in a safe, supervised environment. Accompanying personnel will teach children about the equipment displayed and how these machines help us and our community. There will be a “no horn hour” from 1 to 2 p.m., for those with sensitive ears or who do not respond well to loud noises. In addition to the vehicles, there will be a Kids Fun Zone with various activities. Food and beverage vendors will also be onsite.Guests are encouraged to bring a canned food item donation to donate to the Round Rock Serving Center. Old Settlers Park, East Entrance, 700 N. Austin Bike Fest- 10 a.m.- noon. Austin BikeFest will showcase everything bicycle in Austin, Texas! FREE and open to all ages.

The day will open with a ribbon cutting of Austin’s newest multi-use path– the Southern Walnut Creek Trail. U.S. Representative Lloyd Doggett (Honorary BikeFest Grand Marshal), Mayor Lee Leffingwell, and other local leaders will cut the ribbon and inaugurate the trail.  A family-friendly bike ride in three-mile, eight-mile and 16-mile distances entirely on this great new paved trail will follow the ribbon cutting, with hydration and snacks provided along the way. Crowes Nest Farm’s Fall Family Fun Festival (Manor)- 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. Crowes Nest Farm will host its annual fundraiser. Hayrides, raptor and snake shows, cow milking, and more, plus plenty of homemade treats and craft items! See the event flyer. Dia de los Muertos Festival-  12-10 p.m.,  Proceeds from the Dia de los Muertos Festival will benefit Easter Seals Central Texas’ mission of providing exceptional services to people with disabilities. 27th Annual Monster Concert & Carnival-  3-8:30 p.m. The carnival begins at 3 p.m. and will feature a wide variety of games, food/beverages, live bands, and other fun-filled activities, including the very popular (and scary!) “Haunted House.” There will be a costume contest at 5 p.m., so come dressed in your favorite outfit. Spooky Skedaddle 5K and Fun Run-  3-7 p.m. The Spooky Skedaddle includes the city’s only Halloween themed 5K, a 1K Fun Run, and family friendly entertainment to create Austin’s premier Halloween festival. Come join the fun, including FREE trick or treating! Proceeds from the event will benefit the Texas School for the Deaf Foundation and its mission to support the over 5000 deaf and hard of hearing children in Texas. Cost: $30 for the timed 5K race (discounts available for groups, includes t-shirt) and $3 for the 1K Halloween Costume Fun Run. The Domain’s Halloween Party on the Plaza-  3-5 p.m. Enjoy a FREE Halloween Party on the all-new Domain II plaza! Leander Fall Festival (Leander)-  5:30- 10 p.m. Come join Leander Fire Department (LFD) at their Annual Fall Fun Festival. Umlauf Sculpture Garden & Museum Pumpkin Sculpting Competition-  12-4 p.m. Grab a pumpkin at the Umlauf Sculpture Garden & Museum and learn the tricks of the trade to carving a jack-o’-lantern from Professor Pumpkin.
