Opening Weekend of Three Little Pigs at ZACH Theatre- Friday, at 6:30 p.m. (Fry’s Fun Farm will be hosting a Petting Zoo and cookie reception at this show included with ticket!), Saturday, 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.; Sunday, 2 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. Take three little piglets, their devoted single-parent mom, and a misunderstood Big Bad Wolf, and you’ve got the perfect “Great Big Little Broadway Show” for audiences ages 3 and up. Pancho Rabbit and the Coyote- Saturday, 11 a.m. and Sunday, 2 p.m. Pancho Rabbit meets danger at every stage of his journey to find his missing Papá, but the greatest danger of all is his untrustworthy guide. Kids will be inspired and cautioned by this resonant and powerful story. Live music and imaginative scenes fill the Scottish Rite Theater stage. Curricular materials created by master teacher Caroline Sweet are available to teachers. Recommended for K-5th Grade. People’s Gallery Opening Reception – 6-9:00 p.m. Celebrate Austin’s creative talents in this exhibition featuring artworks by over 100 artists and special exhibits from United Way for Greater Austin, AISD Creative Learning Initiative students, and Art in Public Places. There will be a special musical performance by One Ounce Opera and the Ginger Armadillo food truck will be parked on site offering food for purchase. Family friendly and FREE! Interactive Storytelling Night (Round Rock) -  6:30 p.m. Children ages 3 and up are invited to bring 3-5 small, interesting objects: a figure of a character or animal, a finger puppet, toys, marbles, doll house items – any interesting trinkets will work. They will all be put in a basket and Ms. Andrea will help the kids create a fairy tale. It’s anyone’s guess as to where these stories will go. Wear your jammies and bring a pillow and blanket. Marathon Kids Finisher Medal Celebration-  9 a.m. for A.I.S.D. and 11 a.m. for all other districts. The Finisher Medal Celebration is the official ‘last lap’ of the Marathon Kids 26.2 Mile Challenge. All children in the Marathon Kids program, as well as their teachers, families, friends and neighbors are encouraged to attend as thousands of “Marathon Kids” celebrate their journey to a healthier, happier life and receive their Finisher Medals!Remember – we run Rain or Shine! Lamar Middle School Presents The Goonies- 9 a.m. Join parents, students, and staff of Lamar Middle School for a special screening of The Goonies! Meet us at Alamo Drafthouse Village. Star Wars Fire Safety Show (Round Rock)- 10 a.m. The Force is strong with the Fire Department‘s Star Wars Fire Safety program. Enjoy your favorite Star Wars characters as they lead you through fire safety tips in this fun show for elementary students and their families. Big Top Pee Wee –  11 a.m. Children age 3 and up and their families are invited to attend a free Alamo Kid’s Club screening of Big Top Pee Wee (1988). Toy Joy will be on hand with free toys and games! This screening is absolutely FREE, but tickets are distributed at the Box Office on a first come, first served basis. Arrive early to ensure you get seats. No children under the age of 3 will be allowed in the theater and families with loud children will be asked to leave. This movie is rated PG. Georgetown Airport Class Car and Vintage Plane Show (Georgetown) –  11:30 a.m. – 3 p.m. The event will have a unique blend of classic cars and vintage planes. Approximately 300 classic cars and several vintage planes will be there. The Devil Dog Squadron will be offering rides on the B-25 and helicopter rides will be available as well. Forty trophies will be presented to the Classic Car Exhibitors. The event will be benefiting www.HelpOurWounded.org and is supported by Longhorn Jet Center, Devil Dog Squadron, Civil Air Patrol, Freddy’s Steakburgers, English Color and many more. 2ND Street Soundcheck – 1-8 p.m. The 2ND Street District and Austin Monthly invite Austinites to attend the fourth annual 2ND Street Soundcheck on Saturday, February 28, 2015, from 1-8 p.m. This FREE all-day music and street festival will feature 12 bands on two main stages including new headliner, Austin-based indie favorite Ben Kweller. In addition to 12 bands on two stages throughout the day, music fans will also have access to the 10 in-store performances powered by Fender Audio: THE FENDER PASSPORT VENUE. WOOM Bikes Demo Day and Youth Bike Rides -  9:45 a.m. to 2 p.m. Join WoombikesUSA and the The Ghisallo Foundation on a group ride along the Mueller Hike and Bike Trail. Shorter and longer routes will be available for varying age levels; instructors and volunteers will assist along the ride. Landmarks Public Art Tour –  11 a.m. Venture down the rabbit hole with Landmarks on a docent-led tour of public art on campus.
