YesterFest (Bastrop) – Friday, April 24, Saturday, April 25, and Sunday, April 26. Yesterfest celebrates the history of Bastrop, Texas and the cultures that have contributed to our storied past. At Yesterfest, you’ll enjoy historic re-enactments including a wild west gun fight, demonstrators showcasing life as a pioneer, live music, dancing, story telling, pictures with longhorns, and more! Founders Day Festival (Dripping Springs)- Friday, April 24, Saturday, April 25 and Sunday, April 26. The three-day celebration kicks off with the Grand Parade and includes: free music and entertainment on two stages, the Mighty Thomas Carnival, food, beer, street dances, cook-off competitions, over 150 arts and crafts booths and business vendors. Downtown Dripping Springs.

Esprit at The Long Center- Friday, April 24 at 8 p.m.; Saturday, April 25 at 2 and 8 p.m.; Sunday, April 26 at 2 p.m. Following the highly successful Esprit! at the Paramount Theatre, this concert once again brings together some of Austin’s finest artists in collaboration with Tapestry in celebration of world spirit and dance! Expect an unforgettable, unparalleled performance.  “All of these companies reflect a strong dance history in Austin, and we’re proud to celebrate together in Esprit,” said Acia Gray, co-founder and Artistic Director of Tapestry Dance Company. Artists include Anu Naimpally, Zein Al-Jundi & The Bint El Balad Bellydance Ensemble, The Irish Dance Company, Love of China, The Lannaya African Drum & Dance Ensemble and Roy Lozano’s Ballet Folklorico! 17th Annual Dragon Boat Races- Saturday, April 25 and Sunday, April 26th, from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.  Head to Festival Beach to watch 40-foot long boats race on Austin’s beautiful Lady Bird Lake. In addition to the races, this family-friendly, multi-cultural event offers Asian cultural performances of dances, martial arts, lion dance, taiko drum and a kid zone for children. Sunday is the First Annual Dumpling Festival and Competition. Stick Rice Dumplings wrapped in bamboo leaves are the traditional food items of the Dragon Boat Festival. Art City Austin- Saturday, April 25 and Sunday, April 26. In 2015, Austin’s iconic art fair celebrates its 65th year! With an annual attendance of 20,000 people, this juried art fair is the biggest and best art marketplace in central Texas. At Art City Austin you will find: an outdoor art fair of nationally recognized artists featuring work ranging in medium from paint and photography to fiber and wood with more than 100 exhibiting artists, introducing the Austin Art Pavilion, featuring contemporary Austin art work presented by 5 Austin galleries, live musical performances that reflect the diversity and quality of the Austin music scene. This year Art City will feature the Black Fret Music Stage presented by KUTX Music 98.9, The Austin Music Experience, some of Austin’s favorite food trucks: Crepe Crazy, Coolhaus, Garbo’s Lobster Truck, Whole Foods, interactive projects and entertainment for kids of all ages. Come out, meet the artists, take home original museum quality artwork and celebrate Austin’s vibrant creative culture. Tickets: $10 per day with kids 12 and under free. 18th Annual Buda County Fair and Wiener Dog Races (Buda) – Saturday, April 25 and Sunday, April 26. Enjoy a pet parade, wiener dog races, kids zone, live music, and arts and crafts. Admission: $5 at the gate, free for kids under 12. City Park, 204 San Antonio, Buda.

Shakespeare at the Market- Friday, April 24 and Saturday, April 25 and Sunday, April 26. Seating at 6:30 p.m., play begins at 7p.m. Present Company Theatre presents Shakespeare at the Market! Leander: Big Hero 6 at 7:30 p.m.  Often described as a combination of state-of-the-art technology and the nostalgia of the 1950s drive-in, the Movies in the Park series provides families the opportunity to spend time together under the stars while enjoying first run movies…all for FREE!! Baby Bloomers: The Three Little Pigs- 9-10 a.m., Huff and puff and blow their house down! Join us as we explore the classic tale, The Three Little Pigs at Baby Bloomers. Y at the Park: Family Play Day- 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Enjoy a FREE day of fun and games with Enrichment activities based on Y programs, Amazing 1K Family Race, Inflatable obstacle course and bounce house, Learn more about the Y and our Financial Assistance program. At this free community engagement event, kids of all ages will enjoy enrichment activities and games alongside their parents. Family Day at the Ransom Center- 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Visit Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and enjoy FREE activities for the young and young at heart. You can participate in writing activities with teaching artists from Austin Public Library Friends Foundation’s Badgerdog Creative Writing Program or engage with Lewis Carroll–inspired math activities with local math literacy organization Math Happens. University of Texas at Austin museum theater students will lead visitors through the galleries. Cenicienta at ZACH Theatre-11 a.m. and  2 p.m. Easily understood in English and Spanish, this bilingual stage-adaptation of Cinderella tackles culture, familia, and the power of language.  This production is in collaboration with Teatro Vivo. Louisiana Swamp Thing and Crawfish Festival- 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.  If you love all things Louisiana this is the event for you! Enjoy two stages featuring 10 Louisiana bands. You’ll hear Funk, Brass, Zydeco, Cajun, and the Blues. Tempt your taste buds with some amazing food vendors who sell everything from jambalaya to alligator. If you prefer crawfish, the Louisiana Swamp Thing & Crawfish Festival has 7,000 pounds of large, boiled, live Crawfish! We also have kid’s activities including bounce houses and slides, face painters, and more. Come ready to shop because the festival also has 25 arts & crafts booths. Little Planet Helpers- Noon – 2 p.m., Kidgits members go GREEN! Come learn fun ways to keep the environment clean and healthy. Members will get to make their very own silly face recycled materials flower pots (while supplies last). Austin Nature Day- Noon – 4 p.m.  Celebrate nature and Earth Day at this fun, outdoor event with hands-on activities. Take a guided hike through the Zilker Preserve with an Urban Forester, get your hands dirty investigating the life inside a dead log, and more! FREE! ACE Innovation Day – Noon – 5 p.m. ACE Innovation is an all-ages-oriented, public event celebrating Austin’s community of creative entrepreneurs. With guest speaker presentations and community-led, hands-on educational exhibits, visitors will find an abundance of opportunities to learn in this interactive environment. A showcase of local students’ original inventions and enterprises will also be on display, along with an artisan craft market, and live entertainment. Something for everyone. FREE! The Big Squeeze Accordion Competition and Concert-  1-5 p.m., For its sixth year on the Museum’s Lone Star Plaza, the Texas Folklife Big Squeeze Accordion Contest will host an afternoon of squeezebox greats, young and old. Watch the next generation of accordion players compete for three grand prizes in polka, zydeco, and conjunto accordion traditions. Following the competition, enjoy a free concert featuring some of the best accordionists across the state: Conjunto accordionist Eva Ibarra and Cajun accordionist Charles Thibodeaux, and 2014 Big Squeeze Champions Aaron Salinas, Garrett Neubauer, and Randall Jackson III. Family Dance Workshop: Swan Lake-  2:30- 3:45 p.m. Family Dance Workshops engage children and adults of all levels of dance experience with excerpts from the latest Ballet Austin production. Ballet Austin dancers lead groups in movement exercises to learn short pieces of choreography that build understanding of and appreciation for techniques essential to the production. There’s fun for everyone involved whether you’re moving on the stage or interacting from your seat! Recommended for children ages 5 to 10 years old. Each group of children must be accompanied by at least one adult during the program. Listen To Your Mother Show- Saturday, April 25 at 3 and 7 p.m. LTYM features live readings by local writers on motherhood. Each production takes the audience on a well-crafted journey that celebrates and validates mothering through giving voice to motherhood–in all of its complexity, diversity, and humor. In addition to supporting motherhood creatively through artistic expression, attendees help support families in need financially, as a portion of the ticket sales benefit local nonprofits. Hike, Bike and Paddle at The Rowing Dock- Sunday, April 26, from 7-11 a.m. Start the day off with a sunrise paddle on beautiful Lady Bird Lake, followed by a 5 mile trail ride along the Ann and Roy Butler Hike-and-Bike trail and a short hike through the Zilker Nature Preserve!
