Did you get the chance to read about our Saudi project where had the chance of a lifetime to take care of an entire house with seven rooms, designed for a family of five.
As promised, we want to show you around, this time focussing on the spaces we created for the children to sleep and play in. A girl and two boys will be strolling around this home. The older two share a bedroom and there is a nursery for the baby. Our focus was on creating effortlessly fun spaces with a modern look softened by some vintage touches. Using a combination of both wallpaper and paint makes these three spaces come to life. Perfectly mismatched we like to call it.
The Nursery
With blue you can never go wrong. Remember the blue statement Jotun wall I had in Sams previous room? This wall was the reason why our client contacted us 2 years ago for our very first styling project. So we wanted to use this color again to add a bit of sentiment.
The daybed with custom-made decorative mattresses softens up the room. The cutest little details like the yellow buttons and small bells makes them serious eye candy. We love to support small businesses and Alexandra Fabric Creations is one of them that we could not have done without.
The essential pop of color is taken care of by the yellow String pocket, the vintage cabinet and some lovely prints. We went for an old favorite of ours Pax and Hart‘s ‘Purple Rain’ – and a new favorite ‘Spotted animals’ by Peek and Pack.

The Shared Bedroom
We were so happy that we could finally work with the amazing Rafa Kids bunk bed. This elegant, modern and light piece of furniture is great for smaller spaces. To mis match this eye-catcher, we went for a boho look Azilal berber on the by Rozen Kelim and some stunning vintage pieces like the green cabinet, the mini desk and a petit Thonet chair.
To compensate this circus of colors we chose a striking monochrome wall paper from Bien Fait. How fun is it to bring the jungle inside!

The Playroom
These three dwellers will spend quite some time together is the playroom. It will be the place where home work is made, books will be read and laughs will be shared.
A vintage Eames chair with a basic Ikea table make a great study corner. Storage was key so the often used Ikea Besta cabinet was a no brainer. Yet the 3.60 meter custom made shelving by De Oude Interieurbouw totally upgrades this piece of furniture and makes it look elegant over practical. A reading corner was created with the wooden playhouse and some shelving. Guaranteed hours of fun with this item.
As our client is a huge fan of the cactuses you have seen in styling projects before, the Ane wall decor wall paper was a perfect fit. It also gives this space the color it was still lacking. Playing with elements like putting some confetti in a frame makes the styling and the result of it fun.

What these rooms need now is kids. As the house in totally new, toys, books and puzzles will need to fill up the shelves. These spaces need to be lived in, slept in and played in. Hopefully our job will allow them to do so with lots of fun.
