Rethink Mental Illness are organising a sponsored ‘Cloisters to Oysters’ cycle ride between Canterbury and Whitstable on Sunday 27th August and they want you to be involved. The funds raised from the event will raise awareness of mental health issues and the work of Rethink Mental Illness.
The cycle event will be two ways from Canterbury to Whitstable and will begin and end at the Dolphin Public House garden with registration starting at 9am and the ride starting at 11.30am and the event is due to finish approx. 5pm.
The cycle journey each way takes about 1 hour 15 minutes for a moderate rider and is open to people of all cycling abilities.
The cycle ride is being supported by the Crab and Winkle Trust who will be supporting the event on the day by giving historical information about this route and will include details (with brief talks along the route) of their restorative work to re-establish a complete walking or cycling route between Canterbury and Whitstable.
If you want to get involved in this event please complete the application form here and email it to rethinkevents@rethink.org. You will then be sent an information pack and a free Rethink cycling jersey.
More information will be posted on the Facebook ‘Cloisters to Oysters‘ event page, click on the link to find out more.
