The Express Entry sub-category of Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program which is a popular International Skilled Worker program, has recently reopened for 500 new applicants (14 of February)

All eligible candidates in the federal Express Entry pool, through this sub-category, can apply for a provincial nomination certificate that is given by Saskatchewan. This provincial nomination certificate gives all candidates an additional of 600 points under the Comprehensive Ranking system (CRS). Then, these candidates are able to be in line for the following selection at a subsequent draw from the pool.

The Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program targets all prospective and valuable immigrants that have the necessary experience and skills to fit in the Saskatchewan’s community needs and labour market.

All candidates for this sub-category must be in the IRCC Express Entry pool.  They must be eligible for one of the three federal economic immigration programs.: Federal Skilled Trades, Federal Skilled Worker and the Canadian Experience Class.

The minimum requirements

The candidates should be into the IRCC’S Express Entry pool and also, have an Express Entry Profile Number and Job Seeker validation code.

He/She must have proof of legal status if currently residing in Canada

Must provide the necessary language test results from an approved testing. This agency must meet the needs of Canada. The level of language must be the same as their level at Express Entry profile.

Have completed at least one year of post-secondary training or education. It should be suitable and comparable to the Canadian education system. It should have resulted in a degree, diploma, certificate, or a certificate equivalent to a trade certificate;

Obtain proof of eligibility for Saskatchewan licensure. This, only if Saskatchewan regulates their profession and requires mandatory (compulsory) certification or licensing;

The candidate must have a minimum level of work experience to their field of training or education in a highly skilled occupation (NOC A, 0, or B). That means ttheir educaiton is in-demand in Saskatchewan (See in-demand occupations list below);

Must have at least one year of work experience in the past 10 years in a skilled profession (non-trades); OR

At least two years of work experience in a skilled trade within the past five years; OR

Must have at least one year of skilled work experience in Canada in the past three years (trades and non-trades).

Hold a certificate of qualification (also known as a letter of invitation) in their skilled trade from the Saskatchewan Apprenticeship & Trade Certification Commission if their work experience is in a skilled trade;

Have proof of a settlement plan and sufficient settlement funds

Score a minimum of 60 points out of 100 on the SINP point assessment grid.
