The details of a brand new Canadian immigration program, the Atlantic Pilot Program, have been finally announced! This program will allow over 2,000 newcomers to submit their application for permanent residency in 2017. It is set to last for about three years and it involves provinces of Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Labrador, Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick.
This program is part of the Atlantic Growth Strategy and it was first announced in 4th of July, 2016. All applicants will be accepted in March, 2017.
This program is designed to significantly improve the settlement process of newcomers by making sure that all economic immigrants that arrive through The Atlantic immigration Pilot Program, to have a job offer from a designed employer. Also, these immigrants must have a settlement plan for themselves and their family.
There are three categories this pilot program includes:
The Atlantic High-Skilled Program (AHSP), targets all candidates with a qualifying job offer. The contact must at least last one-year for a full-time employment. The position must be at level 0, A, or B of the National Occupational Classification (NOC);
The Atlantic Intermediate-Skilled Program (AISP), targets all candidates with a qualifying job offer of indeterminate duration. The positions must be for a full-time job at level 0, A, B, or C of the NOC;
Lat but not least, The Atlantic International Graduate Program (AIGP), targets all international graduates of post-secondary study programs of at least two years’ duration, undertaken at a publicly-funded institution in the Atlantic region. These graduates must also have a qualifying job offer.
