RENAULT KWID 1.0 L & AMT INDIA LAUNCH

Renault launched its Maruti Alto 800 rivals last year and took the entry-level car market by storm! At the Auto Expo, the French car maker showcased new options of the Kwid equipped with a 1.0 L engine and 5-speed Easy-R AMT. Renault is expected to launch these variants in India this year.

TATA TIAGO SEDAN [KITE 5] INDIA LAUNCH

Much like its predecessor, the Tata Indica, the Kite hatchback will also brood a compact sedan, which will be the alternate for the Indigo ECS. And this sedan has already been spotted trying out with heavy camouflage on numerous occasions. Front end styling and interiors will be similar to the Kite hatchback while the last might borrow design cues from the Zest sedan. Expect the Tata Kite sedan to be belligerently priced.

MARUTI IGNIS INDIA LAUNCH

Maruti will launch the Ignis in India this year and showcased the same at the Auto Expo. The Ignis is a Micro-SUV that will be sold through Nexa outlets and will compete with the Mahindra KUV100. It will be powered by a 1.2 L petrol and a 1.3 L diesel engine. Expect the Ignis to be priced in the INR 4.5-6 lakes region and some sources suggest the Ignis could be the substitute for the Ritz.

TATA NEXON COMPACT SUV INDIA LAUNCH

Tata is working on a compact SUV called Nexon that was showcased at the Delhi Auto Expo. The new range of products from Tata have been well received and are being esteemed for the high grades of quality and equipment. And this compact SUV is likely to play along in the steps of the Tiago and the Zest and get eye-catching styling and decent grades of equipment. Engine and transmission choices, such as the AMT, could likewise be held over from the Zest sedan.

RENAULT KAPTUR SMALL SUV INDIA LAUNCH

Renault is readying a small SUV that will slot in above the Duster and take the fight to the hugely popular Hyundai Creta. On sale in the Russian securities industry, the Kaptur is more premium offering than the Duster and is slightly larger in terms of dimensions as easily. Showcased alongside the Ignis concept, the Baleno RS is a hotter version of the popular Baleno hatchback. It packs a 110 bhp 1.0 L Boosterjet petrol engine. The concept showcased at the Auto Expo featured a body kit and a roof spoiler. It will be launched some time during the festive season this year. The Baleno RS will rival related hot hatches such as the Volkswagen Polo GT and Fiat Punto Abarth.

HONDA CIVIC INDIA LAUNCH

NEW HONDA ACCORD INDIA LAUNCH

The Honda Accord was showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo and will make a comeback to the Indian market this year. Fiat-Chrysler’s Jeep is all set to launch in India. The first Jeep model to go on sale in India will be the Grand Cherokee. DATSUN REDI GO INDIA

The rather invincible Maruti Alto 800 has got yet another rival in the form of the new Datsun Redi Go. Launch at a starting price of INR 2.39 Lakhs, the Redi Go offers unbeatable value for money. Its crossover-ish looks combined with a fuel efficient engine might be enough to leave a sizable dent in the Alto’s sales performance. The Redi Go shares both its platform and engine with the Kwid but is priced even lower than its Renault-badged sibling. The Redi Go seems to be one really promising car.

VOLKSWAGEN AMEO INDIA

Volkswagen will launch the new Ameo compact sedan in July 2016. To be positioned between the Polo and the Vento, the Ameo will rival the likes of Maruti Dzire, Ford Aspire, Hyundai Accent and Tata Zest. The Ameo will also become the cheapest sedan in VW India’s product portfolio. It boasts of several segment first features including rain sensing wipers and cruise control. Prices are expected to be somewhere in the INR 5-8 lakes region.

HONDA BR-V INDIA
