These seven mandals comes under AP Government for ease of construction of the Polavaram Irrigation Project. Those Seven Mandals are Kunavaram, VR Puram, Chintoor and Nellipaka mandals have come under the Rampachodaravaram Revenue Division (East Godavari) and Veleirpad, Burgumpahad and Kukkunoor mandals comes under West Godavari District.
