Release from Manhattan-Ogden USD 383 –

The Manhattan-Ogden USD 383 Board of Education will be interviewing 4 candidates for Superintendent. The name of the candidate and a short bio will be posted on this webpage by 8 a.m. each day.

There will be a Meet and Greet opportunity each afternoon from 3:45 – 5:15 p.m. at Manhattan High School West Campus, 2100 Poyntz Ave. The public is invited to attend to meet each candidate.

From 4:20 – 4:45 p.m. there will be a presentation by the candidate and time for audience questions/answers – MHSW Little Theater

The Board of Education welcome any all feedback about the candidates. There will be a feedback form available at the Meet and Greet or you can email Board of Education members directly.

January 13 – Candidate 3

Dr. Marvin Wade

Dr. Wade currently serves as the Superintendent of Marshalltown Community School District in Marshalltown, Iowa (2008 to present).

He has also served as Superintendent of Schools, Associate Superintendent for Instruction and Special Services, and Director of Special Services and Curriculum in Weld Country Re-3J School District in Keenesburg, CO (1995 – 2008).

Prior to that, he was a Principal at Clay Center Community Middle School, Clay Center, KS (1992 – 1995), Special Education Coordinator/School Psychologist, Twin Lakes Educational Cooperative, Clay Center, KS (1990-1992), and a School Psychologist in Salina, KS (1989-1990) and Dodge City, KS (1983-1989).

He received his Doctorate in Education from Kansas State University (1995). He earned his Educational Specialist degree from the University of Northern Colorado (1983) and his Bachelor of Science degree from Colorado State University (1979).

The Tuesday, January 12 interview was with Dr. Robert Diepenbrock

Dr. Diepenbrock currently serves as the Superintendent of Kingman-Norwich Public Schools – USD 331 (July 2010 – present).

He has also served Flint Hill Public Schools (USD 492) as a Middle School Principal, Elementary Principal and Superintendent (2005 – 2010).

Prior to that, he was the High School Principal in Andale (USD 267), preK – grade 12 Principal at St. Xavier Parish School in Junction City, KS and the Co-Principal, Dean of Student, Athletic Director at Kapaun Mt. Carmel Catholic High School.

He received his Doctorate in Educational Leadership (2010), District Licensure (2007),  M.Ed. in Education Administration and Supervision, and Master in Science Education from Wichita State University. His Bachelor of Arts degree was earned from Newman University in Wichita.

The Monday, January 11 interview was with Dr. Penny Hargrove.

Dr. Hargrove currently serves as the Superintendent of Hiawatha Public Schools, Hiawatha, KS.

She has been an Assistant Superintendent in Valley Center and a building principal at Valley Center Middle School and in Wakefield (K – 12)

She has also been a middle school teacher/coach in Haysville

She received her Doctorate in Educational Leadership (2015) and her Masters of Education Administration and Supervision (2005) from Wichita State University.In 2007 she earned her District Level Educational Leadership from Emporia State University. Her Bachelors of Science, Elementary Education was earned from Kansas Newman College (1994) in Wichita.
