Among all international airports in the country, Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) is the busiest international airport and handled 4.09 Crore Passengers in the last financial year. IGIA is managed by Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL), a constrium of GMR Group, Airport Authority of India, Fraport and Malaysia Airports.

Winner of Golden Peacock National Quality Award and Best Airport in the World in the category of 25-40 Million Passengers, IGIA is among the best international airports in the world, which delivers excellent facilities to passengers. IGIA has 3 terminals, 3 runways and more than 70 Airlines serve this airport.

Spread in an area of more than 5,000 acres, IGIA handled more than 1.35 Crore International Passengers and over 2.7 Crore Domestic Passengers between April 2015 and March 2015. Also, IGIA is among the few international airports in India that uses system called Airport Collaborative Decision Making (A-CDM), which helps in air traffic control and makes landings and takeoffs accurate in time.

Spread in an area of more than 750 hectares, CSIA handles more than 3 Crore Passengers and over 70,000 aircraft movements annually, which makes it the second busiest airport in India.

CSIA has 2 runways, out of which one has length of 3,660 metres and the second runway has a length of 2,990 metres. Apart from being the second busiest airport in the country, CSIA is also handles the largest cargo traffic in the country and in the last financial year, CSIA handled more than 4.8 Lakh Tonnes of freight.

3. Kempegowda International Airport, Bangalore



Kempegowda International Airport, also known as Bangalore International Airport is the third busiest airport in India and in the last financial year, it handled more than 1.5 Crore passengers. Managed by Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL), the construction of the airport was started in the year 2005 and completed in the year 2008.

Spread in an area of more than 4,500 acres, Kempegowda International Airport has one terminals, one runway of 4,000 metres length, 38 gates, 20 aero-bridges and a parking capacity of 2000 vehicles. It is an important airport in South India and more than 40 Passenger and Cargo Airlines serve this airport.

4. Chennai International Airport

Rajiv Gandhi International Airport has one terminal with an area of more than 1 Lakh square metre, which offers various facilities including parking facility of more than 1,500 cars. The airport also has a cargo terminal, which has a capacity to handle 1 Lakh Metric Tonnes of cargo annually.
