With the Indian automobile industry in revival mode, most major four-wheeler makers including Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai,Honda, and Toyota have reported excellent sales growth figures this festive season. So from an industry point of view, the passenger car market has been able to maintain a healthy growth rate despite last year’s bad monsoon and dip in rural sales. Besides reduced fuel prices and positive sentiments, the launch of some really good products seems to have propelled the growth in the passenger car market. Here’s a list of Top 10 Upcoming Cars In India 2016 .

10. Jaguar XE



Expected Price: ­28 – 45 lakh

Jaguar has always been known to produce cars that slot into the higher sections of the premium category and this has been evident since the new look XJ and XF began production in 2009. It has however been missing a contender in the entry-level sports segment which is dominated by cars like the BMW 3 Series, Audi A4 and the Mercedes-Benz C-Class. However, this will now change when it launches the XE sports sedan next year. Aimed at giving the British manufacturer a chance at the volumes game we can expect to see an Indian debut by the middle of next year.

9. Nissan GT-R



Estimated Price: 1.60 – 1.90 crore

Considered by many to be a Porsche 911 killer at the time of its launch, the Nissan GT-R has evolved to become one of the fastest and yet highly practical super cars of all time. What’s even more impressive is the fact that developments on this all-wheel drive coupe has never really slowed down, with Nissan introducing yearly updates with more power and upgraded mechanicals. Now, Nissan is finally planning to bring the GT-R to India by the end of this year to take on the mighty Porsche 911 Turbo.

8. Renault Duster Facelift



Estimated Price: 8 – 12.28 lakh

We all love the Renault Duster facelift for various reasons most which seem to be along the lines of it being a small vehicle made to look much bigger than its size. Developed and designed by Renault’s Romanian subsidiary, Dacia, its arrival heralded a new chapter in the pages of Renault India’s history as it set the charts on fire every month since its launch in July 2012. However, despite the good combinations that it offered, the Duster was no match for the Ford EcoSport which was launched earlier this year and ultimately started dropping off in terms of numbers. With so much to lose, it is now likely that Renault will bring the facelifted version to India sooner than expected. It was unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show and features a host of cosmetic changes and a new petrol engine option.

7. Datsun Redi GO

Expected Price: 3 – 5 lakh

The Datsun Redi GO is the third car from the Japanese automaker as part of its re launch strategy for the brand. It was unveiled at the 2014 Auto Expo and will join the GO, GO+ and the soon to be unveiled sedan (Russia market only) as Datsun’s budget offerings for various markets. It is a B-segment hatchback and is expected to sit above the GO hatchback in the Datsun hierarchy.

6. Tata Kite Compact Sedan

Expected Price: 4 – 5 lakh

Tata’s Indigo eCS has been in the Indian market since 2002 and has aged well enough for the company to overhaul the car since it has not received an update since 2006. Tata will replace the Indigo eCS vehicle by either the end of 2015 or early 2016 and introduce a new compact sedan under the project name ‘Kite’. The revamped vehicle is expected to offer good value for money for consumers on a budget.

5. Audi A4 Facelift

Expected Price: 32 – 41 lakh

The 2016 Audi A4 made its official debut at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show and will be launched for major European markets by the end of the year. It has been spotted testing in Mumbai several times and is the fifth generation of the Audi A4 that will be launched soon in our country.

4. Volkswagen Beetle

Expected Price: 27 – 30 lakh

Volkswagen Beetle Volkswagen is set to launch the new Beetle in India this year. The updated model of the lifestyle luxury hatchback is larger than the previous model based on the PQ35 platform that it shares with the D-Segment sedan, the Jetta.

3. Skoda New Superb

Expected Price: 20 – 25 lakh

Sharp is the new cool seems to be mantra for VW and all the brands under its umbrella. This philosophy has found its way into the external and internal language of not just VW cars but all the other manufacturers as well. While it has left them looking very similar, what we have got are sharp and modern designs. One car that appears to reflect this well is the 2016 Skoda Superb which has now been seem sans camouflage. It is expected to be launched next summer which means that it will come to India by the start of 2016.

Expected Price: 3.90 – 4.50 lakh

Tata Motors has been working on building a replacement for their decade old product, the Indica. Under ‘Project Kite’, Tata has developed a budget hatchback and a budget compact sedan to be positioned under the Bolt hatchback and Zest compact sedan. Tata Motors teased the budget hatch Zica in the first ad video featuring their latest brand ambassador Lionel Messi, revealing Tata’s big plans for the Zica.

Expected Price: 70 – 85 lakh

The Porsche Cayenne and VW Touraeg have both got major updates this year so it only seemed obvious that the Audi Q7 be updated too. Now, Audi has taken the wraps off the 2015 Q7 SUV and it appears to have undergone some major cosmetic reconfiguration.The flagship SUV from the Ingolstadt- based automaker retains an all too familiar shape but is now a whopping 325kgs lighter and roughly 26 per cent more efficient than the outgoing model. The SUV tips the scales at 1995-kgs and has managed to pull off this task thanks to an all-new aluminum-steel chassis and multi-material body composition.
