Movies have always been a source of inspiration for me. They not only make you think out of the box but they also widen the horizons of your knowledge and understanding of life. Each movie comes with a lesson and some movies leave us wondering about our own lives. Sometimes they leave behind an impact greater that our imagination. From relishing the importance of loving your family to the struggles of a common man, movies make you relate to every aspect of life. Every movie comes with a different story and at times you find all the answers you were looking for by watching those. They make you reflect upon your own life and contribute to your growth. Read more to find out what are the few life lessons I have learned from a few amazing movies…

1. THE PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS

“If you have a dream, you have to protect it. When people can’t do something themselves, they will tell you that you can’t do it. If you want something go get it”

This conversation between a father and his son reminds me of how my parents motivated me each time I felt low. Growing up is a stressed out process and during our growing years, it’s very natural to get disheartened when we fail to accomplish our goals. Most of the times we get discouraged when we don’t get the appreciation we deserve or when people don’t acknowledge our efforts. But what most of us forget is that not everyone who criticizes you has accomplished great heights themselves. This is something which if kept in mind will surely guide you, because at the end of the day, “it’s about doing what others say you cannot”.

2. FINDING NEMO

“Just keep swimming”

Sometimes all you require is a pinch of motivation and a reminder to never stop. Failure is not when you don’t reach your goals, it’s when you give up even before reaching your goal. Even if the times are really hard, all you have to do is keep moving because life goes on no matter what happens.

3. GONE WITH THE WIND

“Frankly my dear I don’t give a damn”

Though all of us excel in giving advices and life lessons what we forget is that in most of the stories the narrator himself is the protagonist. It’s completely okay if you have the fear of not being heard because it’s the same with everyone. What binds us all is our desire to love and to be loved, to accept and to be accepted. The desire to be liked and to be accepted by everyone is in human nature often leading people worrying too much about other’s view about them.no one gets a perfect approval from everyone. There are times when other people’s opinion stands contradictory to yours and at those times you have to just simply not bother because it’s not their life, so it’s none of their business.

4. TITANIC

“I figure lives a gift and I don’t intend on wasting it. You learn to take life as it comes at you… to make each day count.”

We only get to live once and trust me this life is worth living for. You should not waste even a single day by being lazy or useless. Do something positive every day and above everything accept life the way it comes to you and make the best out of it. Always remember that not everyone was privileged enough to be born on earth and if you have been given the gift of life make sure that you respect it. To put it in simple, ‘if life gives you a lemon, make a lemonade out of it”.

5. THE PERKS OF BEING A WALLFLOWER

“And in that moment, I swear we were infinite.”

The most important thing in life which eventually is the key to a happy life is that one should learn to let go off of all worries and live in the moment that makes you feel infinite because life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away. In the end, it’s not the number of years in your life that count, but the life in your years is what matters.

6. THE AMAZING SPIDERMAN

“With great power comes great responsibility”

Once you reach a position wherein you have authority over others you should always keep in mind that you are also equally responsible for anything and everything. Use your power for good things and don’t run away from your responsibilities. Because the price of responsibility is greatness.

7. MEAN GIRLS

“Calling somebody else fat won’t make you any skinnier. Calling someone stupid doesn’t make you any smarter. All you can do in life is try to solve the problem in front of you.”

The quote itself says everything, Ruining someone’s life won’t make yours any better. Having hard feelings for anyone doesn’t do you any good if you are angry just let it down to vent your anger but never keep it with you over the years. Unjustified anger can bring about your downfall sometimes the biggest fights occur due to the silliest reasons and in such situations it’s always better to forget, forgive and move on.

8. JUST MY LUCK

“If you dwell on all the bad things in life
you miss out on all the good things.”

In order to move ahead in life you need to leave behind everything that holds you back, living in the past and dwelling on things that make you sad won’t do you any good. Sometimes all you got to do is, just let it go. Unless and until you are not able to leave behind your old behavior you won’t be able to improve yourself. Life takes you through painful times to make you change your ways which will eventually lead to your own betterment.

9. A WALK TO REMEMBER

“It’s like the wind I cannot see it, but I can feel it.”

Love is beyond words and beyond explanations it’s a mutual agreement between two people and their ability to understand each other. It’s present even in the tiniest of the things. It’s not about the number of confessions you make or the number of times you say “I love you” to your loved one. Because love can never be defined or expressed through words alone, it’s when you share a bond with your dear one through the thick and thin of life.

10. THE PERKS OF BEING A WALLFLOWER

“We accept the love we think we deserve”

We all have gone through a phase in life where we have made the mistake of trusting and loving the wrong ones. But trust me it’s completely okay if you choose the wrongs ones because that’s the only time when you come to know who the right ones were.
