November seems to be the most hectic month for me when it comes to my jewelry business. Every weekend is packed with holiday shows, prepping for my annual holiday sale the weekend after Thanksgiving, and a spike in Etsy sales. It’s a good busy, but inevitably I end up having moments of feeling a bit disorganized and overwhelmed. My studio space, which is messy at best on a normal day, is just an absolute disaster this time of year, and I end up spilling out into other parts of the house.

I try to make a dedicated area to prepare orders to mail since I like them to look extra special as most of my orders are holiday presents. I want my customers themselves to also feel special and know how much I appreciate their business. As a one-woman shop, each and every order makes me incredibly happy. (I still get giddy everytime I hear the ca-ching of my Etsy app notifying me of a sale!) I get to share a piece of me and something that allows me to express my creativity, and each order brings me one step closer to helping to contribute financially to my family. As a stay-at-home mom, that means the world to me.

Since there is much to do, from taking and editing product photos (and sometimes even modeling them!) to writing copy for listings to making the pieces to mailing it out, anything I can do to streamlines the process and stay organized helps. This year I’m using my new DYMO LabelWriter® 450 Bundle, which I ordered on Staples.com, to label my supplies, make mailing labels, and create coupon cards.

Instead of ink like a regular printer, the DYMO LabelWriter® uses thermal printing technology, which eliminates the need for ink and wasting paper on label sheets, both of which can be quite pricey. DYMO LabelWriter® 450 Bundle comes with 4 LabelWriter® Label Rolls and DYMO Label™ software which allows you to easily create and print beautiful labels right from your computer.

This year, I am going to use my DYMO LabelWriter® 450 Bundle to create special thank you coupon codes for my customers, and I’m going to show you how you can make one for your business!

First, plug in your DYMO LabelWriter® to your computer and open the software. Under “labels”, choose Speciality/Retail Labels and click on the one called Appointment/Business Card.

Next, start typing into the label what you want it to say. You can choose the fonts, sizes, alignment, and whether you want the text to automatically resize. If you have ever used Microsoft Word, it will feel familiar, and you should have access to all of the fonts on your computer, which I was happily surprised to see.

Next, add in your logo. Click on “Insert” and scroll down until you see “Image”. You’ll be able to choose a picture from your computer. (By the way, they have other clip art on the software itself, which you can see at the bottom left).

Keep in mind that if you have a really colorful logo your labels will print in black and white .

Before your print, make sure that you have the correct labels installed. It is incredibly easy to take out and put in the labels. Just follow the instructions that are on the inside of your DYMO LabelWriter® when you open it, as well as in the user manual that comes with it.

Press print on the software screen and watch your label print in an instant!

I then trimmed off the edges of the label with a pair of scissors. My holiday thank-you discount code is saved on my computer and ready to be shipped as each holiday order comes in. No need to print extras and waste paper!

I ordered my DYMO LabelWriter® 450 Bundle online through Staples.com, but it’s also available in-store. You can check on the product page to see if it’s available in-store near you.

If you are looking for a product that also allows you to easily buy and print stamps without a trip to the post office, check out the DYMO LabelWriter® 450 Turbo. It prints labels super fast — up to 71 labels per minute! You can print USPS®-approved DYMO Stamps® postage and easily customize and print address, shipping, file folder and barcode labels right from your computer. Talk about a time-saver if you have a product-based business like I do and you’re trying to get holiday orders mailed right before December 24. I’ve heard horror stories about the long lines that time of year!

Be sure to go check back every week for Staples Daily Deals for special deals on your favorite DYMO LabelWriter® products including DYMO LabelWriter® 450 Bundle, LabelWriter® 450 Turbo, and LabelWriter® 4XL Turbo!
