Larry Joe Elmore
Larry Joe Elmore, age 75, of the Wexford House in Denver and formerly of West Pine Street in Lincolnton died Saturday, August 27, 2016.
A celebration of life memorial service will be 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at Denver United Methodist Church, 3910 N. Highway 16, in Denver. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
Mr. Elmore was born January 14, 1941 in Lincoln County. He was the son of the late Vernon Fabius Elmore and Myrtle Pernell Finger Elmore. Joe served as a signalman in the US Navy. He was a graduate of Wingate College. Mr. Elmore served over 30 years as a program supervisor for the NC Correctional Department.
He is survived by a son, Patrick Kane Elmore and wife Byrony of Denver; grandchildren, Cooper Davis Elmore and Collins Rae Elmore.

Thomas Andrew Deal
Thomas Andrew Deal, age 87, of 229 Rocky Lane, Lincolnton died Saturday, August 27, 2016.
His funeral will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church with Rev. Michael Collins officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Lincolnton. The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. this evening at Warlick Funeral Home.
Mr. Deal was born on September 21, 1928 and was the son of the late Alvin Thomas and Mary Virginia Sain Deal. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Hoover Deal. Mr. Deal was the founder of Deal Construction, Inc. and was a veteran of the United States Army having served during the Korean War.
He is survived by his son, Andy Deal and wife, Cherry of Lincolnton; and two grandsons, Tom Deal and Luke Deal.

Billy Roosevelt Beaver
Billy Roosevelt Beaver, 86, of Vale passed away on Friday, August 26, 2016 at Catawba Regional Hospice.
He was born November 12, 1929 in Cleveland County to the late Frank and Fannie Mason Beaver. Billy was a founding member of Freedom Baptist Church in Newton and faithfully attended for 43 years. He loved to listen and play gospel music, swing and watch the cats play and he enjoyed gardening.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy Beaver, a son, three sisters and one brother.
Those left to cherish his memory are son, Billy Ray Beaver of Vale; daughter, Sarah Watts and husband Rick of Connelly Springs; brother, Lee Beaver and wife Carolyn of Vale; sister, Louise Buff of Shelby; grandchildren, Telisha Ward and husband Brian, Jonathan Crawley; great-grandchildren: Cody, Taylor, Harley; and special girls that he and his wife raised, Jenniffer Shronce, Stephanie Shronce.
A service to celebrate Billy’s life will be held on Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Freedom Baptist Church in Newton. Dr. R.M. (Bo) Caulder Jr., Rev. Tim Dockery and Rev. Leroy Mobley will officiate. A graveside service will follow at 4 p.m. at White Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery in Vale. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 30, 2016 from 1 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. at Freedom Baptist Church.

Michael Louis Ritzer
Michael Louis Ritzer, age 66, of 1480 Highland Bluff Court in Lincolnton, died on Friday, August 26, 2016.
A graveside service with inurnment will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at Forest Lawn Cemetery with Minister Bob Wallace officiating.
Mr. Ritzer was born March 29, 1950, in Lynchburg, Virginia, to the late Louis Raymond and Mildred Erickson Ritzer. He was a minister.
He is survived by his wife, Susan Vellines Ritzer of the home; a son, Jonathan Ritzer, and wife Emily, of Denver; a daughter, Erin Ritzer of Huntersville; two sisters, Judy Pruitt and Jan Walker, both of Lynchburg, VA; and one grandson, Lucas Ritzer.

Robert Wesley Combs
Rev. Robert Wesley Combs, 88, of 938 Hunting Avenue in Lincolnton, died on Thursday, August 25, 2016.
His funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. today, August 29, 2016, at Boger City United Methodist Church with Rev. Eric Reece, Rev. Joe Ervin, and Rev. Dr. Don Haynes officiating. Burial will follow in Hollybrook Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
Rev. Combs was born March 13, 1928, in Yadkin County, to the late Rev. John Walter Combs and Susan Elizabeth Morrison Combs. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his siblings, Morrison Combs, Elbert Combs, John Combs, James Combs, Dot Combs Sfreddo, Laura Combs Sherrill, Lelia Combs Faulk, and Ruth Combs Rainwater. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict and then later served over 50 years as a minister in the Western North Carolina Conference of the United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Asbury Combs of the home; one son, Robert Wesley Combs II, of Lincolnton; and a number of nieces and nephews.
