CROUSE — Nick Scott, age 53, of Crouse, died on Monday, February 9, 2015, at CMC-Mercy.

He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Teresa Anthony Scott of Crouse; son and daughter-in-law Joshua and Brandie Scott of Lincolnton; daughter and son-in-law Lydia and Mark Turner of Crouse; two sisters, Gloria Heafner of Casar and Patsy Fox of Marion; three brothers, Terry Scott of Lincolnton, Larry Fox and Ronnie Fox, both of Marion; father, Larry Scott of Marion; and six beautiful grandchildren whom he loved dearly, and they loved their POPPIE, Jaden, JJ, Hailey, Clint, Anthony, and Breonna.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Kay Blake; brother, Larry Scott, Jr., and grandparents Wilburn and Joy Neal and Eugene and Janie Scott.

He loved his family and he loved his Lord. He was a member of Leonard’s Fork Baptist Church. He loved to hunt, fish, and play ball. He will be greatly missed.

The family will receive friends on the day of Nick and Teresa’s 33rd anniversary, Saturday, February 14, 2015, from 10:30 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. at Leonard’s Fork Baptist Church in Lincolnton. The celebration of life service will follow at noon with Rev. Caroll Anthony and Rev. Jaie Warlick officiating.

Patricia Voneda (Von) Harper Moose

IRON STATION — Patricia Voneda (Von) Harper Moose, 82, formerly of Charlotte, went to her heavenly home on February 9, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. Voneda was born December 29, 1932 in Mount Holly, daughter of the late Grady and Mamie Harper. Voneda was a member of Catawba Heights Baptist Church. She loved to travel and fish. She was retired from the Charlotte Mecklenburg School Systems. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Stevie Moose and two brothers Colin and Roy Harper.

Voneda was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother.

Left to cherish her memories are her husband of 63 years Harold Moose; children, Wayne Moose, Jr., Robin Rambeau and husband Craig, and Mark Moose and wife Rita; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; one brother, Gus Harper and one sister, Barbara Harper Lawing along with many nieces and nephews.

A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Moose will be held 2 p.m. on Thursday February 12, 2015 at the Woodlawn Chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home with Rev. Tim McCarn officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Charlotte. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Charles Ray Bailey

CHERRYVILLE — Mr. Charles Ray Bailey, 75, of 1746 Bess Chapel Church Road, passed away on Monday, February 9, 2015 at Carolina Continued Care in Kings Mountain.

Ray was born on July 31, 1939 in Cleveland County, a son of the late Henry Arthur Bailey and Myrtle Jane Sain Bailey. He was retired as lead person in the cabinet department at Hickory Manufacturing in Hickory. Ray was a member of Bess Chapel United Methodist Church in Cherryville.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Arthur Bailey.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Wright Bailey of the home; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Hal and Ruth Wright of Cherryville and a number of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Thursday, February 12, 2015 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Stamey-Cherryville Funeral Home & Cremation Service and at other times the family will be at the home. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, February 13, 2015 at Bess Chapel United Methodist Church with the Revs. Nick Rochester, Roy T. Byers and George Williams officiating. The body will be placed in the church thirty minutes prior to the service. Burial will be at Bess Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.

STANLEY — Faye “Bun” Bowlin, age 85, resident of Stanley went home to be with the Lord on February 8, 2015 at her home. She was born in Cleveland County to the late Grayson and Georgia Early. She was also preceded in death by her son-in-law, Ray Crouse. Mrs. Bowlin was retired from Plej’s, Gastonia and a member of New Life Baptist Church in Stanley.

Survivors include son, Bill Bowlin and wife Diane of Chatham, Va.; daughters, Gail Harrington and husband Rev. Curt Harrington of Hilliard, Fla., Becky Ballard and husband Anthony of Stanley, Cindy Hughes and husband Gary of Bessemer City, Melody Crouse of Lincolnton; brothers, Ed Early of Orlando, Fla. and Rev. Tom Early and wife Linda of Newton; sister, Joyce Tucker and husband Dave of Newton; thirteen grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at Ollie Harris Memorial Chapel, Thursday, February 12, 2015 at 12:30 p.m. with Rev. Curt Harrington and Rev. Bo Osborne, officiating. Mr. Jerry Lee Jenkins, age 63, of 619 E. Sycamore Street in Lincolnton, died on Monday, February 9, 2015, surrounded by his family.

Mr. Jenkins was born July 16, 1951, in Lincoln County, to Albert Lee Jenkins and the late Mallie Blackwell Jenkins Teague. He was a Highway Patrolman for the State of North Carolina and was in law enforcement for over 30 years.

He is survived by his wife Emmie Newton Jenkins of the home; three sons, Jerry Gene Jenkins and wife Dawn of Maiden, Brandon Parker and wife Jennifer of Vale, and Michael Lee Jenkins of Lincolnton; his father, Albert L. Jenkins; three grandchildren, Katelyn Parker, Christopher Lee Jenkins, and Joshua Fortney; three brothers, Tony Jenkins of Iron Station, Rick Jenkins and wife Minnie, and Danny Teague and wife Aileen, all of Lincolnton; two sisters, Faye Holland of Lincolnton, and Delonda Badgley and husband George of Greensboro; and the abundance of family.

SALISBURY — Mr. Thomas Foster Cromer, 61, passed away Sunday, February 8, 2015 at Rowan Medical Center.

A memorial service was held at 6 p.m., Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at Wilkinson Funeral Home Chapel. The family received friends after the service at the funeral home.

Tom was born on August 5, 1953 in Roanoke, Va. to the late Colleen Booth Pech and Jack Cromer. He is also preceded in death by his step-father, Valdemar Pech; grandparents, Mary Elizabeth and Aubrey Booth, Carlyle and Virginia Cromer.

Tom was an avid golfer and loved the game. He also enjoyed fishing and spending time with his granddaughters.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy Phelps Cromer of Woodleaf; sons, Trent C. Cromer and wife, Kallie of Rock Hill, S.C., Trevor F. Cromer of Concord, sons of Dorothy Boykin; stepson, Andrew Tesnar of Winston-Salem; beloved granddaughters, Skyler Cromer of Concord and Kelsie Cromer of Rock Hill; step-granddaughter, Lacie Tesnar of Winston-Salem; sister, Celeste Lutz and husband David of Lincolnton; brothers, Tim Cromer and wife, Barbara of Conover, Benny Cromer and wife, Missy of Newton.

Mr. Myrick was born May 22, 1929, in Greenville, NC, to the late George Harold and Louise Atkinson Myrick. He worked as an actuary at First National Bank.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia “Jimmie” Coley Myrick of the home; sister, Carrie Woodall of Richmond, Va.; and many loving nephews.
