Lincoln County Senior Services will host its 21st Annual Healthy Living Series program “Caring for Ourselves and Others” 9-11:30 a.m. at the Senior Center, 514 S. Marvin UMC, Startown Rd. in Lincolnton, will host a breakfast buffet 7-10 a.m. A $6 donation is requested for the parsonage fund. The United Methodist Women’s group will also be selling baked goods at the event to benefit church mission work.

Plant Sale

The Lake Norman Garden Club will host its 15th Annual Plant Sale 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Rehobeth UMC, 9297 Sherrills Ford Rd. in Terrell. Master Gardeners will be on-hand to assist with questions. Baked goods will also be for sale. Proceeds will benefit community projects and the upkeep of the Uncle Billy’s Garden at Sherrills Ford Library and a scholarship for a local student majoring in a horticulture-related field.

East Main Street Artisans and Color Me Pretty, both on E. Main St. in Lincolnton, will celebrate their first-year anniversaries each under new employment and the 100th anniversary of the building they share. CAC Purse sale

The Lincoln County Child Advocacy Center will host a new and gently-used purse sale 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Lincoln County YMCA, 1402 E. Gaston St. in Lincolnton, to raise money for the facility, which caters to child sexual assault victims. Purses will be $5-$10.

Food giveaway

Daniels Lutheran Church, 3170 Reepsville Rd. in Lincolnton, will host a free Bread of Life Food Giveaway 9-11 a.m. Recipients qualify if they already receive food stamps or assistance from Christian Ministry in Lincolnton. Each recipient will receive a 50-pound food box. Individuals may start lining up in the church parking lot at 7 a.m.

Earth Day/Spring Fling

Lincoln County Soil & Water Conservation District and the Lincoln Natural Resources Committee will host a free Earth Day Celebration & Spring Fling will 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 216 S. Aspen St. in Lincolnton (rain or shine). Activities will include a paper various information booths, an egg hunt and children’s crafts related to recycling, the water cycle and more. Easter bunny visit

The Easter Bunny will stop by East Lincoln Christian Ministry, 4278 Catawba Burris Rd. in Denver, 10-11 a.m. to take pictures with area children and hand out gifts.  Easter meal food boxes will also be handed out to needy residents and families.
