Scholarship applications

Applications for “The Trey Whiteside Memorial Scholarship” are now being accepted through April 8. A $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to one senior at each of the four Lincoln County public high schools. Tree seedling sale

The Lincoln County Soil & Water Conservation District’s annual tree seedling sale has been rescheduled for March 1, 2014 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. with a number of available seedlings including dogwood, crape myrtle, pecan redbud and more. Food giveaway cancelled

Daniels Lutheran Church in Lincolnton has cancelled its Bread of Life Food Giveaway. It has been rescheduled for Feb. 25.

 

Pageant

The Miss Gastonia Scholarship Association will host the Miss Valentine Queen Pageant 11 a.m. for ages 0-19 at the Cherryville Community Building, 106 South Jacob Street. Girls from Gaston, Cleveland, Lincoln and surrounding are eligible to partipicate. Proceeds benefit the Miss Gastonia Scholarship Fund. Pumpkin Center Primary School will host McDonalds Night 5-8 p.m. at the location in Boger City. Funds raised will be used to purchase technology and new school supplies for classrooms. Each child will receive a free tasty surprise. Grimace will also be on-hand for the event.

 

Lions Club

The Lincolnton Lions Club will meet 7 p.m. in the Elm Classroom at CMC-Lincoln’s Lincoln Medical Plaza, 441 McAlister Rd. in Lincolnton.
