Edith Blanche Scronce Helms
VALE — Edith Blanche Scronce Helms, age 100, of 3752 Wyant Road in Vale, died on Thursday, January 2, 2013.
Her funeral service will be 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 4, 2013, at Crowell Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Freida Hobson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. in the fellowship hall.
Mrs. Helms was born January 11, 1913 in Lincoln County to the late Will and Mary Hill Scronce. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Clarence Helms, and a daughter Sadie Presson. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She was a woman of strong faith and dedicated to her family.
Left to cherish her memory are a son, Glenn Helms and wife Robin of Lincolnton; three daughters, Beth Reep and husband Miller of Lincolnton, Judy Lineberger and husband Dean of Hamlet, and Madgalene Huffman and husband Roger of Lincolnton; eight grandchildren, Kendra Hartzoge and husband David, Kenneth Reep and wife Kay, Sherian Reep and husband Ray Osborne, Amy Reep, Melinda Presson, Scott Presson and wife Taylor, Amanda Hallman, and Kim Lindsey and husband David; and five great-grandchildren, Andrew Reep and wife Kellie, Austin Reep, Sadie Presson, Cooper Presson, and Patrick Hallman.
Memorials may be made to Crowell Memorial United Methodist Church, 4018 Killian Road, Lincolnton, NC 28092, or to Hospice of Lincoln County, 107 N. Cedar Street, Lincolnton, NC 28092.

The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord on January 4, 2014 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Eastside Missionary Baptist Church, Concord on January 5, 2014 at 2 p.m. Burial will follow at West Concord Cemetery in Concord. The body will lay in state 30 minutes prior to the service.

Margaret Mary Heffernan Rainwater, 86 of Cherryville died January 1, 2014.
Funeral services will be held January 3, 2014 at 3 p.m. at First Wesleyan Church. Burial will follow in City Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. today prior to the service at the church.

A memorial service will be held today at 4 p.m. at Catawba Valley Baptist Church in Maiden. The family received friends January 2, 2014 from 7 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at Burke Mortuary in Newton.
