I’ve got a fun post for you today with this action trio of cards using the Stoked set from Avery Elle. My youngest has a birthday soon and this set is just perfect for him and all his friends birthdays too. I think the images hit that sweet spot between fun/cute without being too babyish. I started out by stamping each of the images from the Stoked set with Simon Says Stamp Intense Black ink on Neenah Solar White card and cut out with their matching dies before coloring with Copics.

Next it was simply a case of creating a little scene for each active boy. For this skateboarding card and the snowboarding card I cut Stitched Hills from white card and grey cards (smoke and slate) to represent the snow and city landscapes respectively. These are then mounted on patterned paper, the edges of all layers are cut with a Pierced Banner Layer die for extra detail.

The speech bubbles are stamped in Versafine Onyx Black and die cut with their matching dies. Oh and I also added a few die cut and colored stars from the set to highlight the rest of the sentiment stamped at the bottom of each card.

The scene for the drummer is a Stitched Circle of paper as a backdrop and then grounded with a Pierced Banner Layer die of patterned paper. The sentiment is stamped on a white Stitched Circle and tucked in under the banner. Again I used a Pierced Banner Layer die to accent the edges of the patterned paper background.

Now the fun part is that each of these guys is mounted on an action wobbler! The drummer was particularly effective at wobbling as you can see from this picture and this mini video :D

I had to search through the sound effects archive for a good boing LOL!

As I said before, this Stoked set is great fun and just perfect for those tricky tweens! Which is your favorite? Since our youngest had a skateboard for Christmas I think I’ll be saving that one for him :D

OK, so just before I was set to finish this post my eldest walked in and picked one of these cards for his friend, so perhaps not just for tweens but big 6ft teenagers too!
