Allen Metropolitan Housing Authority garners recognition

Allen Metropolitan Housing Authority recently earned the Auditor of State Award.

This award is presented to local governments and school districts upon the completion of a financial audit. Entities that receive the award meet criteria set by the auditor’s office.

Leipsic pet groomers win multiple awards

The Paw Prints grooming team of Jolene Siebeneck, Stephanie Palmer and Sarah Angstadt won several awards at the Pet Expo in Columbus.

Siebeneck, the owner of Paw Prints, took first place and the best in class award in the extreme creative competition with her standard poodle.

Stephanie Palmer took first place and best in class award int eh stack & style rescue round up competition. She also took first place and the best in class award in the ombre flower design.

Sarah Angstadt took two first place awards and a second place award in the short and sassy rescue round up competition.

Mennonite employee wins award

Lori Neff, food service manager at Mennonite Memorial Home in Bluffton, was honored with the 2016 Innovation Award from the Association of Nutrition & Foodservice Professionals.

Neff has been in the food service industry since she was 17. She passed the certified dietary manager exam in 1988, and continued with a supervisory role at Lima Memorial Health System. Within her first four months at the Mennonite Home, she helped create a six-week cycle menu.

TopMark Federal Credit Union received the highest 5-Star Superior rating from Bauer Financial Inc. in March 2016.

NEW HIRES

Lima YMCA adds to staff

The Lima YMCA has hired Lauren Beasley as the Lima YMCA New Membership Navigator.

She will be responsible for sharing the Y story with the community, making contact with area corporations and helping connect new members to the Lima YMCA.

Beasley holds a bachelor’s degree in public relations with a minor in drama from Mount Vernon Nazarene University.

She resides in Lima with her husband, Clinton, and their puppy, Rogue.

Habitat hires new executive director

Matt Rau was hired as the new executive director of Putnam County Habitat for Humanity in March. He starts his duties April 4.

Rau is a graduate of Continental High School and worked in concrete and carpentry construction for seven years before attending Bluffton University. He earned a bachelor’s degree in history and a certification for social studies secondary education.

After teaching six years, Rau felt called to work in the non-profit field. He was the adult life skills program coordinator for The Salvation Army of Lee, Hendry and Glades Counties in Fort Myers, Florida. Most recently, Rau was the program manager and director of the Path Center in Defiance.

Rau lives in Fort Jennings with his wife, Melissa, and their two children, Ryan and Erica.

PROMOTIONS

Good promoted to vice president

Jeff Good, son of Linda Nicholson of Lima, has been promoted to vice president of operations for surgical services at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Chicago. In this new role, Good will oversee the operating rooms of Northwestern Memorial Hospital across four pavilions of the downtown Chicago medical campus.

He served in numerous capacities since joining Northwestern in 2008. Most recently he was the administrative director for the departments of ophthalmology and anesthesiology and served as the director of operations for the medical and surgical subspecialties.

Good graduated from Greenon High School in 1989. He received his bachelor of science from the University of Dayton and his master of business administration from the University of Cincinnati.

He resides with his wife, Tracy and sons, Dean, Dylan and Mitch, in Orland Park, Illinois.

Nidec Minster partners with U.S. Army

Nidec Minster Corporation has become an official participant in the U.S. Army’s Partnership for Youth Success (PaYS) Program.

PaYS is a program designed to prepare, train and connect soldiers to future employers. The program not only guarantees a job interview, but also enables soldiers to gain leadership, valuable technical skills and experience. The Army benefits by gaining valuable industry partners who acknowledge the Army as a quality producer of skilled employees.

Findlay CPA firm recognized

Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted announced the “Ohio Business Profile Program” will be featuring Certified Public Accountants throughout the month of April. The firm Gilmore Jasion Mahler, LTD, of Findlay will be recognized.
