Event goody bags

In February I attended the Porta #PlasticFantastic event with fellow blogger Kat from KatSick. It was very exciting to actually attend an event like this in Brighton, and apparently I wasn't the only one who felt like this as the shop was packed!

The purpose of the event was to showcase a few new jewellery ranges from acrylic designers Sugar Jones, Maggie Angus, designosaur, and KatzeShop. I have to admit I have been a massive fan of perspex/acrylic jewellery for a while, my addiction started at uni when I got a Tatty Devine name necklace.

While looking at the collections Kat and I managed to have a chat with Sugar Jones designer, Carla Ballantine. She was so easy to talk to and extremely friendly. She told us how she created the pieces and where her inspiration comes from.

I think Carla's creations were my favorite overall, I'm cat crazy so the Cat and Goldfish necklace caught my eye immediately. I just think it is so cute and playful and would be a great statement piece to add to any quirky outfit. I also love the detailing on the wing of the dragonfly necklace, usually perspex pieces are silhouette, so it is really a lovely touch.

The Maggie Angus range was the next. A reoccurring theme in this collection are the flowers, this combined with the monochrome colour scheme is bang on trend and very reminiscent of the 60s. My favorites from Maggie Angus are the 'Geek' and the Cheetah necklaces.

The most unique range came from Katze Shop. Crafted from wood, rope, cast resin and gold leaf the collection is very much one of a kind. I love the lantern piece (bottom right in below photo), I think it is the perfect accessory to take an outfit from day to night.

Finally came the aptly named designosaur whose collection consisted largely of extinct creatures, such as dodos, mammoths and various dinosaurs. They also make a stunning necklace of the Brighton Pavillion, for me this was the best piece as I spent much of my youth in the Pavillion Gardens.

Everyone who attended was generously given a goody bag, with one item from each designer. Here is what I received! I love them all!
