The American rock quartet The Gaslight Anthem started their big European tour in Dusseldorf on October 29th which will also bring them to Zagreb. One of the most important American rock bands in the last 10 years are coming for their first concert in Croatia and the only one in the region.

Brian Fallon, Alex Rosamilia, Alex Levine and Benny Horowitz formed the Gaslight Anthem in 2006 in New Brunswick, state of New Jersey, and the following year they published the debut album “Sink Or Swim” which assured them great reviews of both independent and mainstream media. The sound of the band was influenced by a rich rock’n’roll and punk scene of New Jersey and Jersey Shore, with the obvious Springsteen’s influence on Brian Fallon’s writing. In the next seven years the band published three more albums, “The ’59 Sound” (2008.), “American Slang” (2010.) and “Handwritten” (2012.) and appeared on most of the big festivals such as Coachella, Lollapalooza, Glastonbury, Pinkpop, Southside, Hurricane, Rock Am Ring, Reading, Leeds and many more.

In the middle of 2013 Gaslight Anthem started their work on a long awaited album called “Get Hurt” which was published on October 18th 2014. The material was recorded in the legendary Blackbird studio in Nashville with the producer Mike Crossey (The 1975, Arctic Monkeys, Jake Bugg). “Get Hurt” pushes the band’s raw rock’n’roll into deeper new territories with influences of folk, punk and Americana.

The New Yersey’s four has just finished the long and successful American tour which was also a promotion of their recently published album “Get Hurt”. On the home ground these Jersey Boys are favorites which they proved with their numerous sold out arenas all the way from the east coast to the west. As a supporting band they had the Against Me! Punk rock quartet with whom they cooperated for years. At the beginning of their careers it was the other way around – Gaslight Anthem were a supporting band for Against Me!

With all the good reviews of the new album, debuted on No.4 Billboard Top 200, the concert set lists included an overview of their 8 year career. Around 22 songs, such as “45”, “The ’59 Sound”, “Stay Vicious”, “Sweet Morphine”, “Mama’s Boys”, “Mulholland Drive”, “1.000 Years”, “Old White Lincoln”, “Dark Places” and “Rollin’ and Tumblin’” gained a lot of great reviews in the American media which emphasize that live versions lifted up the songs because of band’s fantastic coordination and raw energy of the band that still remains unchanged. Parallel with the tour, the band appeared on prestigious TV shows such as the “David Letterman Showa” and CBS.

“Early Morning Showa” where they performed the single “Get Hurt”.

The European tour started on October 29th in Dusseldorf and the band will play 19 concerts in total, in Germany, Belgium, Austria, Italy, Switzerland, UK and Croatia.
