I hope everyone had a great weekend! They’re never quite long enough, but we fit in a lot! We worked on a couple of DIY projects {that I ended up running into the unexpected rain to save}, got the house back in shape after a long week, did some shopping, went to church, a new Bible study, and even squeezed in a date night.

We keep pretty busy around here, but we try to sneak in a date night once a week. We’re not always that great about planning ahead, so when it gets down to it we’re often too tired to make real plans. Often times, date night looks like takeout on the couch while catching up on the DVR. There isn’t anything wrong with that, but it’s good to turn off the TV, get off the couch and actually, you know….talk to each other….while looking at each other’s face.

Look at us — all fresh faced and young and wild and free and ready for an elaborate date night. This was 5 years ago before we had a millionty responsibilities.

It is so much easier to be intentional with your time when you have a good plan in place. We have been thinking up some super easy date night ideas that we can just pull out of the {imaginary} hat when we need to get out of the house, but our remaining brain mush doesn’t allow us to come up with fresh new ideas.

This past weekend, we took advantage of the easiest of the easiest ideas and headed out for dinner at BJ’s. Our local BJ’s is just a bit outside of our normal radius and near the mall. All of the restaurants in this area stay busy, so we normally wouldn’t head that way unless we already had plans, but we really needed some Pizookie in our lives. Thankfully, the new BJ’s Mobile App made our evening even simpler. We glanced at the menu and then placed our order using the Dine in Order Ahead feature in the app. We chose the time we would be arriving and ordered everything from our drinks to dessert.

Once we arrived, we were quickly seated {since ordering ahead also adds you to the Preferred Waitlist} and then our drinks soon appeared. Our order was sent to the kitchen as soon as we were seated and was quickly delivered by our waiter. There was no time spent mulling over the menu…just time spent in good conversation, slowing down and catching up after a long week.

This is my super cute date. :)

A lot of people go to BJ’s for the pizza {which is amazing} but we decided to try a couple of new dishes {because we’re being wild, remember}. Tim had the Grilled Mahi Mahi tacos.

And I had the Mediterranean Chicken Pita Tacos. I subbed fries for the side it normally comes with {because of said wildness, and it was really easy to make any substitutions or tweaks to our order on the app}.

We also partook in some of BJ’s handcrafted beverages. I tried out the Black Cherry Soda. Super tasty, but also super sweet.

Right as we were finishing up our entrees, our beloved Pizookie was delivered. Thou shalt not go to BJ’s without partaking in Pizookie. Seriously, y’all. It’s the best.

So good, that you also get an aerial view. Hello, gorgeous.

When we were ready to wind down our time, we were able to use the Mobile Pay option on the app to to pay for our dinner.

When you’re ready to pay, you can pull this option up in the BJ’s Mobile App and view your open checks. I was able to make sure everything was correct on our ticket, plugged in our card info and could even leave a tip. No trying to track down your sever to get your check, no math to be done. Just pure simple.

The BJ’s Mobile App is available for iPhone and Andriod. You can download that app by clicking on your respective phone and then be on your merry little way to Pizookie heaven.

Do you and your significant other try to have a weekly date night? What are some of your favorite, easy date night ideas? Did you do it all for the Pizookie?
