NEWARK, Del. Penny auction site HappyBidDay.com opened their doors in November 2010. Celebrating their third year in business, a term once virtually unheard of in the industry, HappyBidDay continues to provide high quality products and service to their penny auction customers today.

When HappyBidDay.com launched back in 2010, the penny auction industry was in its infancy but growing fast. New sites were starting every day. Unfortunately for the consumer, many of these new penny auctions were run using unscrupulous management techniques. Before long, reports of serious problems surfaced. Some sites never shipped won products; others did a poor job of educating the consumer on the pay-to-play model. And others still were simply fraud sites, swindling people using shill bidding and the like. Quickly, the penny auction industry had a negative reputation. HappyBidDay, along with a handful of other honest operating businesses in the industry, would go on to be one of a very few penny auctions that would survive the industry turmoil. While fly-by-night penny auctions were closing as quickly as they opened, HappyBidDay was among sites run by genuine business owners with concerns for their consumers.

HappyBidDay educated their customers, clearly explaining how to buy bids, place bids, and play to win in their penny auction format. They were also among the very first and only penny auctions to offer a free play format, their own branded Happy Auctions. And, they were also one of the originals to introduce Buy It, a risk-free auction style that allows bidders to receive their bids back and buy the item at retail if they don’t come out as a winner when the auction ends. These features quickly distinguished HappyBidDay as a leader in the penny auction circuit.

Their commitment to maintaining fair business practices is what HappyBidDay CEO Lisa Dee attributes to their long running success.

“Our industry had a really bad rap a few years ago,” says Dee. “But luckily the kinds of sites that were responsible for it have been mostly weeded out by now. We’re proud to be part of a small circle of penny auctions that’s been able to provide honest auctions, real products, and fair shipping for our consumers for three years running now. Most penny auction sites don’t see their first birthday. We’re very excited this month and look forward to celebrating many more to come with our great customers.”

Join us this November to celebrate our 3rd Birthday when we offer our customers free penny bids, special offers, fun auctions and amazing deals all month long!
