Bikram Yoga

Bikram is often marketed as “hot yoga” it is practiced in rooms that have been heated to 40C or 105F, this is keep your muscles warm and prevent injury, but also to help your body flush toxins. Bikram’s method is a set series of 26 yoga poses, each of which is performed twice in a 90 minute class, is designed to stretch muscles, ligaments and tendons in the order in which they should be stretched. Only a mat and towel are needed for Bikram yoga, and most students don’t wear much clothing because of the heat. Bikram can be started at any level and enjoyed immensely as your physicality progresses.

Jivamukti Yoga

Co-founded in 1984 by Sharon Gannon and David Life in New York, Jivamukti yoga is a vigorously physical and intellectually stimulating practice leading to spiritual awareness. A new and trendy yoga whose distinct style incorporates the physical, psychological and spiritual aspects of yoga into a modern lifestyle. Each class is designed around a theme, which is explored further with chanting, readings from ancient text, music, postures and breathing. If you do Jivamukti at home, incorporate your own spiritual goals for a complete experience.
