Chelsea striker Diego Costa and Everton star Romelu Lukaku were included in one of the summer’s longest-running transfer adventures.

As the Chelsea striker believed to be sorrowful at the club and edging towards a return to Atletico Madrid, would have seen Lukaku make his move back to Chelsea for a fee in the region of £68m.

However, the transfer collapsed, with Chelsea being able to convince Costa to stay, while Lukaku commit his future to Everton.

And now, the stats show that The Blues have been justified in their choice to keep hold of Costa and not break the bank for Lukaku, as since August 2014, he has had a far higher minutes-to-goal ratio than the Everton striker.

While Costa claims an average of 132.9 minutes per Premier League goal, The Belgian star falls back with an inferior, yet amazing ratio of 193.4 minutes per goal.
