Chelsea keeper Thibaut Courtois may not have decided to force an exit from Chelsea yet however the future of another shot-stopper may force his hand.
The Spaniard told newspaper Marca that he will look to drive down his deal before deciding his fate a transfer which makes him immediately more attractive to Real Madrid, who baulked at the £73million fee they were quoted.
But, only one goalkeeper can establish themselves as first-choice and Los Blancos came close to landing David De Gea from The Red Devils last term.
Considering De Gea;s age and abilities, Courtois may have had to wait years for an opportunity to play for Real.
Speculation continues De Gea could one day move to Madrid, just like Courtois.
Meanwhile, Man United signing Ibrahimovic stated he could have joined Manchester United last year.
However it wasn’t until Jose Mourinho became the head coach at Old Trafford that he was assured he should transfer to England.
The veteran joined the Red Devils in a free transfer move from Paris St-Germain at the beginning of July.
And he has made an amazing start to life with the Manchester United, scoring five goals in seven games.
However, he has claimed he could have been performed in the Premier League a year ago, having been given the chance to join ex-United manager Louis van Gaal at Old Trafford.
“There were talks about me coming to United one year ago, that is correct, But it was not the right moment. But then they get the Special One and when the Special One calls, and when he starts to talk to you, you are already convinced.
“He didn’t need to talk a lot to convince. I know him from before, what he wants, what his demands are, what he goes for. He is a winner. I see myself as a winner also.
“We won when we were young and we will win when we are a little bit older. Not old. Just a little bit older.” – he said.
Man United have failed to obtain any of their past three matches against The Citizens, Feyenoord and Watford respectively.
The Portuguese manager’s team will be determined to get back to winning ways when they visit Northampton in the EFL Cup tomorrow evening.
