Chelsea ready to let 54-capped International star go for £12m

Chelsea have told Bournemouth they must spend at least £12m to land Asmir Begovic.

As reported by the Mirror, The Cherries ahave already had an offer of £10m turned down for Begovic.

They suggest the Premier League side will have to up their bid by £2m to take the experienced keeper to their team.

Eddie Howe is understood to have aimed  Begovic as a replacement for Artur Boruc, who will turn 37 next week.

The 54-cap Bosnia-Herzegovina star joined Chelsea from Stoke for £18m in the summer of 2015.

However, he has struggled for regular match time at Stamford Bridge with Thibaut Courtois strongly established as the club’s first choice in among the sticks.

Boruc has played just four games under Antonio Conte this campaign, all of which have come in domestic cup tournaments.

The shot-stopper, who earlier spent five seasons on the south coast with Portsmouth, still has two-and-a-half seasons left to run on his deal in west London.

Meanwhile, Chelsea and Liverpool could both make move for Genk striker Leon Bailey this month after teams in Europe raised their interest in the £20m-rated attacker.

The 19-year-old has drawn interest from a host of big sides so far this campaign but Genk hinted that they’d hold onto their ace until at least the end of the campaign.

The story suggests Costa keen to double up £150,000-a-week salary to £300,000 at Chelsea, but The West Londoners are ready to offer a new five-year contract worth £225,000-a-week preferably.

In other Chelsea news, The club have contacted Middlesbrough over the possibility of attacker Adama Traore.

A transfer to Chelsea could help intensify the career of Traore as he will be performing alongside a better quality footballers which will help him grow as a person.

It will surely be a difficult task to break into the first team squad, however, he will be expected to be given chances to impress and Conte is a manager with a credit of bringing the best out of footballers.

The Guardian reported that Crystal Palace star Benteke is on Chelsea’s wish list in case Costa makes move at the end of the 2016/17 season.

The Italian manager Antonio Conte stay keen on Benteke notwithstanding the Belgian’s disappointing campaign with Liverpool, where he only scored ten goals in 42 games.
