Arsenal started Talks with £51m rated technically gifted winger

According to the latest transfer news from German media sources, Arsenal have opened early talks with Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund over a potential transfer deal for Marco Reus in summer.

It is believed that Arsene Wenger is identifying possible replacements for the Gunners No.7 superstar Alexis Sanchez, who is yet to sign an extension to his current contract deal which expires in the summer of 2018.

And the 27-year-old Marco Reus is one of Arsenal’s top targets with the club ready to pay £51 million for the signature Germany international in the summer.

The North London club are also ready to offer the former Borussia Monchengladbach captain a contract worth £6.8m a year.

Reus, whose current contract deal with Borussia Dortmund expires in 2019, has featured in only five Bundesliga matches this season due to endless injuries.

The attacking midfielder was ruled out of Euro 2016 tournament after suffering a torn adductor muscle last May.

The German star made his comeback at the end of November and was given the chance to recover even further due to the winter break in Germany.

Alongside Marco Reus, Arsenal are also chasing for the signature of another Dortmund star, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who is valued at €80m by the German club.

Arsenal set for battle for sign the 24-year-old versatile defender

According to the Italian media outlets, Premier League giants Arsenal have to face competition from Euro giants Juventus and Inter Milan in their pursuit for Wolfsburg full-back Ricardo Rodriguez at the end of the season.

The 24-year-old Ricardo Rodriguez, who has played over 150 matches for the Bundesliga club since joining in 2012, has been a long-term target for Premier League top clubs.

The North London club are the latest to express an interest in the Swiss international, with reports from last week claiming the Gunners were monitoring Rodriguez’s situation.

And now, the reports from Italian publication Calciomercato suggest that Arsenal are one of three clubs interested in launching summer moves for the left-back.

It is believed Arsene Wenger’s side and Italian duo Inter Milan and Juventus are keeping tabs on Rodriguez, with both Serie A clubs desperate to bolster their defensive options.

Meanwhile, Arsenal are getting closer to sign Lyon wide-man Rachid Ghezzal, with Premier League club Everton are also willing to get the midfielder’s signature.

The Algeria international is in the last few months of his current contract deal at French club and is expected to leave as a free agent at the end of the campaign.

Everton have agreed a £12m transfer fee for Ghezzal last summer. But the player rejected the move because he wanted to sign for a top club.

Arsenal ready to fight with arch-rivals for the 22-year-old striker

According to the German media sources, Arsenal have to beat their arch-rivals Tottenham Hotspur in the race for Freiburg’s highly-rated forward Maximilian Philipp.

The 22-year-old sensation has managed to score five goals in 13 league matches this term and played a crucial role in the club’s promotion to the Bundesliga last season.

Recent reports from SportBild claim that Philipp, who is capable of playing across the attacking line, has caught an eye of Arsenal and Tottenham, who are both ‘on their way’ to signing him. The same sources also suggest that Philipp could be available for as little as £3.4m.

However, despite latest rumours, Arsene Wenger confirmed earlier this month that Arsenal are unlikely to conduct any major transfer business during the January transfer window.

The Frenchman said: ‘There is very little hope to find players of that quality in the January transfer market so the best way to deal with that is to get our injured players back.’

And as it confirmed Arsenal failed to sign a player last month so they will try once again in Summer when the transfer window reopens.

Meanwhile, Arsenal have to face tough competition from Champions League holders Real Madrid in their pursuit for FC Porto’s attacking sensation Andre Silva, who has been closely monitored by Arsene Wenger since the last season.

The Portuguese giants have consistently shown they are willing to sell their 21-year-old highly-regarded youngster if the players’ valuations are met.

However, the reports from Daily Star claim that Porto are willing to retain the services of the gifted striker this month, which could make the deal trickier for the Gunners because it will allow Real Madrid to enter the fray.
