24 hours! This is the minuscule time-frame that has been gifted to ever so desirous Homo sapiens on the planet Earth. In these 24 hours, one needs to juggle between professional life, personal life and just to contort things a little, one also has to wade through numerous other chores as they come. Impossible, ludicrous, asinine!
Yet you look around and you find people who are able to extract maximum out of these 24 hours. When they are at their workplace, they push their mental faculties to the limit to pitch a deal in a perfect fashion. When they are at home, they devote their heart and soul to their families and when they are at a party, they bring down the house like no one else can. All this in a single day! Watching this with gaping mouth and intense envy, absurd propositions cloud your thoughts. “There must be some mysterious power at work for them”. “They might have a wormhole hidden in the basement which let them warp time and space paradigm”. And what not!
But alas! All these fanciful and otherworldly thought process will not hold any ground when you read the following 4 ways in which you 4 ways to make your day productive and do a lot more in same 24 hours-
Give yourself some alone time
It is always better to know what salt is one worth of before looking into rest of the world. By introspecting, you will be able to de-clutter your mind, will see through the haziness that muddled your judgments and hence make peace with yourself. Once you know yourself, your apprehensions will desert you and you will find that making decisions and taking big steps in life especially during crunch time will come naturally to you. You will be in sync with nature and then you just can’t go wrong.
Sift Sift Sift
The first and foremost rule to effect a change in your life and how to handle is to sift through your life. You should always priorities what and how of your daily routine. If a task needs immediate attention you should get right down to it before it snowballs into something insurmountable. Same goes for paltry events that can be handled at the end of the day. Keeping a mental note of what you need to achieve in next hour and what you need to achieve in next 24 hours will help you to squeeze out and relish every second of every minute you have in hand.
“Unsocialise” yourself
Let’s face it. All those status updates and tweets are not doing you any good at least on personal level. Myriad of photos on Instagram and Snapchat are zilch at the end of the day! So why not, if not purge, at-least prune this so called social media networking from your life. The more time you snap away from this virtual thread of social networking, the more you will channelize this energy and time to your job and your family. Just try it. You will feel liberated and realise you suddenly have a lot more time on your side!
Person from Porlock
Person from Porlock is not a person per se but situation which impedes your progress to achieve something you always longed for. Due to this stumbling block which you will, surprisingly, always find in the journey called life, you start contemplating and procrastinating rather than getting things done. This ultimately affects overall quality of your life and hence your productivity. By snubbing this “person from Porlock” you will be able to do things rather than wait for the ideal moment. You can start by setting aside a few hours daily dedicated towards your big plan and let it shape with time. Doing so you will have a sense of satisfaction, you will focus on other tasks well and hence make your day productive just like you always wanted.
