Maninder Cheema offers two tools to combat external energy attacks

I have struggled with chronic nasal discharge and frequent cold and cough till my early 30s. I have experimented with all forms of alternative healing including yoga, pranayam, nature cure, ayurvedic medicines, homeopathy, reiki, acupressure and magnet therapy. Later, I stumbled upon past-life regression therapy, EFT and cellular healing taught by Brandon Bays through her Journey programme.

Through these measures, my chronic problem disappeared. I realised that my problem had an emotional core. I was unknowingly blocking all emotions inside me. As I became more self-dependent and expressed myself without constraints, the chronically blocked nose healed. However, I remained prone to catching cold or getting a sore throat at the slightest pretext. On such occasions, I used all the healing tools I had learnt, particularly EFT. For the colds, EFT worked about 40 to 50 per cent of the time. Sometimes, it worked effectively and sometimes, I would get only minor relief. I realised that during those times, the cause was not purely emotional.

Having learnt to think of the body as an energy system, I knew that the disturbance was at the energy level which then manifested as illness.

One day in April last year, I suddenly felt a severe cramp in my right shoulder akin to a catch. I have never had any pain in that area and there was no reason for it to appear – no strain I might have caused by heavy lifting or sudden movement. The next day, my friend Meera Kotak offered to do a session of Access Bars on me, and by the end of it, the pain disappeared. She attributed the pain to the presence of entities (Access deals with entities). Uncomfortable with the notion of entities, I mentally made the connection that whichever term we use, when any energy which is external to our body touches our energy body, it causes an impact. Sometimes this impact may cause enough disturbances to cause physical discomfort and even illness.

Energy release

The next time I developed a sudden cold, I practised releasing external energy. I knew that there was no logical reason for me to catch cold – no cold drink, no outside food, no exposure to cold weather. I hadn’t been emotionally upset or stressed either. Within half an hour of releasing external energy, the cold disappeared. It was surprising how a little visualisation exercise could abate a cold which was on course for a minimum three days of sneezing, runny nose and body fatigue. After that I tried the exercise several times for cold, stomach upset, and body ache and each time, the recovery was within an hour. I learnt to recognise the signs of an external energy attack with Meera’s help. When you are with many people, you interact with a lot of energy bodies, and some of the energy may stick to you. Restless legs or a creepy or tingly feeling in a part of the body could be a sign of external energy hitting you. If you are aware, you can almost physically feel another person’s energy hitting you, especially if it is intense rage, depression, or even joy. Whether it be emotional energy discharged by others, or disembodied energy, its impact on our body or the method of release are both the same. Just as we make sure that our homes are free of unwanted insects and pests by regular use of pest control, we can apply regular methods to keep our energy spaces clean and free of unwanted energy.

A daily routine of releasing external energy has since become a habit and leads to a restful easy sleep.

The Rose Tool

The technique I use most often is called the Rose Tool and was developed by Jim Self, a healer and author who works with energy tools. More about Jim Self can be found on his website http://www.masteringalchemy.com/.

Close your eyes, centre yourself, and imagine a white rose in front of your forehead. This is a magical rose that absorbs all energy which does not belong to you. Now imagine this rose going around you in circles, down to your feet and then all the way back up, circling your body, and absorbing all external energy. Bring it back in front of your forehead. Now look at the rose and see what colour it is. Whatever colour shows up is the colour of the external energy the rose absorbed. Now move the rose away from you, pay gratitude to the energy for fulfilling its role and purpose in being with you, and explode the rose into smithereens, making it disappear.

Repeat this exercise till the colour of the rose fades away. At the end, surround yourself with divine white light, letting this light replenish you and fill up any empty or dark spaces you may have felt along the way. In my experience, the rose tool by itself is enough to release the sudden onslaught of minor ailments, and bad moods like sadness, low energy, sinking feeling, inexplicable depression, etc. However, there are times when the rose tool is rendered ineffective. I then use the Mirror Tool, which I picked up from a past-life regression practitioner.

I suggest using it after applying the rose tool, to do away with any stubborn bits of energy. The Mirror Tool Close your eyes, centre yourself and imagine a large full-length mirror in front of you. Look into this mirror and see if you can see your image clearly. The image may be hazy or cracked or covered up by some circles or other shapes of differing colours the first time. Whatever you see in the mirror, bring it all together into a ball of energy. Then call upon a mentor, someone you believe in, who can guide you at a spiritual level.

Imagine a window opening onto a cascade of light next to the mirror, and ask the mentor to guide the ball of energy away from you, out of the window and watch it leave into the cascading light. Sometimes, the ball of energy may refuse to leave. Then you can ask your mentor to firmly tell it that this is not where it belongs. This is not home, and this is not where it wants to stay. It belongs to freedom and to truth and light. The energy ball will gladly leave. Sometimes, it may not look like a ball of energy but may take some other shape. When it has gone, look again in the mirror and repeat the exercise till you see a clear image. As simple as they appear to be, these energy tools are amazingly effective. The efficacy improves as your own inner clarity improves. Working with energy is as simple as asking energy to move.

The clearer the intention, free of emotional baggage, the stronger is the response from energy. I use it regularly for day-to-day healing, at the physical and emotional level. It keeps me healthy. You can use it too.
