Armaan is the son of music director Daboo Malik, who is the brother of Anu Malik.
He started singing when he was just 4 years old, and learnt singing from Rita Kaul and Qadir Mustafa Khan in his early days.
In 2006, he took part in Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L’il Champs, but got eliminated at the 7th position.
Initially, he either wanted to open a restaurant or continue with music, and he choose music.
He got his big break in 2008, where he sung the song Mere Buddy alongside Amitabh Bachchan.
In the end of 2015, he became a sensation with his soulful pop song Main Rahoon Ya Na Rahoon that featured Emraan Hashmi and Esha Gupta.
He is the youngest singer (aged 19) to have won 2 GIMA Awards in an year (2015).
