Breast Cancer is not something to take lightly. Current breast cancer research shows that experts are estimating about one out of every eight women born today will be diagnosed with breast cancer at some time during her life.
It doesn’t just happen in women, either. In 2010 1,970 men were diagnosed with breast cancer. Now in 2013 an estimating 2,240 men will have breast cancer, too. Breast cancer happens and you need to make sure you get tested early.
An Easier Way To Protect Yourself
Philips Healthcare is taking steps to help make getting tested easier for everyone. With the new Philips Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign they are reaching out to as many people as they can to generate the importance of early prevention. It starts with Educating, Encouraging and Empowering women. It is scary to put yourself out there and maybe you don’t want to go through the process of getting checked for breast cancer, but that is where Philips has made it easier for you. Tomorrow October 22nd, they will have their amazing Micro Dose Mammography system and the Mammography Truck Road Show, which is an educational Mammo truck on wheels located at CDI (5775 Wayzata Blvd #140, St. Louis Park, MN 55416) at 10am.
Why You Should Get Tested Early
The key to early detection is to find cancer cells before they began to cause symptoms. The earlier you find cancer you gain a higher rate of curing the cancer. Research shows founding a lump in your breast means the cancer is larger and has started to spread pass the breast. Women who are 40 years old are encouraged to start getting mammogram screenings every year.
What Can You Do Ahead Of Time
Talk with your family to get a better understanding of family history regarding breast cancer.
