Foreign film fans will be excited to learn Belle & Sebastian, the second highest grossing French film to be released in France last year, will open in selected cinemas across Australia on July 3. The Retiree has five double passes to give away, courtesy of Icon Films.
Belle & Sebastian captured the hearts and minds of movie lovers when shown earlier this year at the Australian French Film Festival and it’s release is perfect timing for the school holidays.
Adapted from the popular 1965 TV series set during the Second World War, this heart-warming story depicts the experiences shared between Sebastian ,a lonely child, and Belle, a wild dog found roaming the French Alps. Despite repeated warnings from the villagers, Sebastian forges an unshakeable friendship with Belle. Their adventures see them travel through the mountains, evading Nazis and aiding the brave Dr. Guillaume as he helps Jewish refugees escape to Switzerland.
