These past few weeks, I've been talking about State Farm's Celebrate my Drive campaign. This campaign started just last year in 2012 & already has thousands who have made an online commitment to safe driving. Parents, if you haven't seen this infographic on how much parents & teens are dangerously disconnected when it comes to views on driver licensing laws, I encourage you to see it. It's an eye opener & it will want you to talk more with your teens about the importance of safe driving – which is great since that's the point of this whole campaign! Crashes are the number 1 killer of teens & we need to help stop that.

Many parents, like my own, assume their teens have enough common sense to know what's right & what's wrong when it comes to driving but being a teen, you tend to be a little reckless at times.  Reminding them to think 2N2™ when driving – keeping 2 eyes on the road and 2 hands on the wheel & to not text while driving can make a huge difference in saving someone's life.

National Teen Driver Safety Week ends today, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't continue to practice & learn more about safe driving. Today, however, is the last day where High Schools & their students can generate support for their school by making safe driving commitments online & by doing so, $3.25 million in grants* will then be awarded to 100 winning high schools!

2 schools get a Grand Prize Concert by a chart-topping music artist and a $100,000 grant

8 schools get $100,000

90 schools get $25,000

Take part in a local Celebrate My Drive event

*10% of each grant award must be dedicated to teen driver safety

Not only do they make an important decision to make safer choices while driving, but they can get rewarded for doing so! And not only that but all the High Schools who win will be happy to be awarded with such generous grants – I'm sure they would be a huge help. For more information on how to make your online commitment to safer driving, you can check out the Teen Driver Safety Website or you can connect with Celebrate my Drive on Facebook.
