Horror and suspense author Brian Keene will be scaring up stories at the March 14-15, 2015 Tucson Festival of Books.

A Gathering of Crows The Last Zombie

Several years ago I had the pleasure of running across Brian Keene's books while working with teens at the library. He was so popular that I wrote through his website to let him know they could not get enough of his writing; Brian was touched by this, and a couple weeks later a giant box full of his autographed books arrived from his hometown of Pennsylvania. The teens were ecstatic and made him new lifelong fans and readers.

As a fan of Stephen King and horror stories, I dove into my first book of his, "Ghoul," a story of monsters and childhood innocence that was captivating and chilling, the stuff of nightmares. I have continued to read as many Keene books as I can get my hands on. His world of zombies, dark paranormal creatures, and even terrifying earthworms, has kept me reading for years. He has branched into comics and graphic novels, short story collections, and even had a TV movie made out of his book "Ghoul."

Thus it was with great excitement that I learned Brian will be a panelist at this year's Tucson Festival of Books, where he will be speaking on three panels.

If you have not read Brian Keene, there are several titles available at the library including print and downloadable, and some books will be for sale during his panel discussions. He writes of an Occult Ex-Amish Detective in many of his books: Levi Stoltzfus, who has appeared in books like "A Gathering of Crows" and "Ghost Walk." And in "Terminal" Keene writes of Tommy, a man diagnosed with terminal cancer who must decide how he is going to provide for his family before he dies and plots a bank heist. Terminal

In one of Keene's most ghoulish stories, "Castaways," he writes of a television show filming a survival reality program on an isolated desert island- which also happens to be inhabited by hungry primitive human-like creatures living underground. Castaways

Please join Brian at any or all of the three panels he will be on during the TFOB, where he will discuss trends in Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror, as well as discussing spies and detectives in paranormal worlds. He will be paired with other great authors such as Jonathan Mayberry and Weston Ochse for discussions that will be lively and entertaining.
