Seedy Saturday at Bruce County Public Libraries
Many of us have spent the whole winter dreaming of warm sun and breezes, the fresh smell of earth, the early flowers and green grass that announce the arrival of spring. And what says “Spring” more than preparing for the gardening season? Bruce County Public Library is ready to help by hosting its 4th annual Seedy Saturday on April 9.
Seedy Saturday is primarily a seed exchange event that occurs in early spring in communities across North America. The Library invites gardeners of all ages to bring in saved or extra seeds from their gardens to exchange them with other gardeners in their community. Participants need to bring a container in which to carry their new seeds home.
In addition to the annual seed exchange, many library branches are hosting local gardeners, gardening clubs and experts to share information and best practices for growing.
The Library has an extensive collection of gardening-related resources available to borrow with your library card as well as hundreds of articles in our free online resources, Canadian Reference Centre and MasterFile, located on our website: www.library.brucecounty.on.ca.
