The terror attack last night in Nice, France that left at least 84 people dead was carried out by a Tunisian Islamofascist named Mohamed Lahouaiej Bouhlel. According to French authorities, Bouhlel — who mercilessly gunned down a crowd of civilians out to celebrate France’s Independence Day, then drove his truck through a second throng — had a history of clashes with the law.
But that isn’t the real cause of last night’s murderous mayhem. According to Roshan Muhammed Salih, editor of the British Muslim news site 5Pillars, the cause of the attack was France’s Islamophobia.
Shortly after the attack, Salih tweeted:
France is an Islamophobic nation with a hugely destructive foreign policy and these horrible attacks are a terrible blowback #NiceAttack

And here you thought imaginary afflictions couldn’t kill!
The tweet seems to have been met with outrage by majority of those who saw it. Some of the reactions were reasonable, others less so:
@RmSalih If you feel a compulsion to qualify your “truth” by labeling it “obvious” you’re most likely misguided, or delusional.

just kill your self.. https://t.co/ZG8ZmxeQ3Y

But Salih was determined to have the last word:
The moronic reaction to my obvious truths about French foreign policy and Islamophobia is indicative of why cycle of violence will not stop.

However you analyze the exchange, one undeniable takeaway is that policies critical of Muslims is a flashpoint to these attacks. But if that’s true, doesn’t it put the lie to Barack Obama’s insistence that Islam has nothing to do with acts of terrorism?
