What is your favourite aspect of playing on a server with a vanilla-like game play?: I know what i need to know. No strange recipes for modded items and trying to learn 1000 things and not having a clue what to do. Vanilla is simple but enjoyable.
Tell us something about yourself: I have a phobia of snakes so thank god mo creatures isn't installed. I Also love mooshrooms, they are so cute and my typing get's so messed up so i am having to correct myself more times then not.

Why do you prefer playing in a small community?: I enjoy being in a small community because it makes it easier to meet everyone on a personal level. In big servers I feel I am normally surrounded by strangers, and that is definitely not the goal.
What is your favourite aspect of playing on a server with a vanilla-like gameplay?: I enjoy vanilla because it's what I know. I don't like highly modded servers because they shut down quit a bit, and mods tend to get old fast. In vanilla everyone seems more interested in community projects on community since they aren't worried about learning all the new things that come with a mod-pack server.
Tell us something about yourself: I am 17 years old, and in highschool. I enjoy playing soccer, and I like to think I'm pretty good at it. On weekdays I often won't play as much since I'm in a few AP classes with heavy loads of homework.
Why should we accept you?: I think you should accept me because I enjoy the community aspect of minecraft. I won't be the kind of person to ignore everyone and be a general butthole. My favorite part of minecraft is building, I love to make things that are unique and pretty. My plan for the server is to make a kind of cloud kingdom. Why do you prefer playing in a small community?: I've played single player a lot and its just not the same if there is no one else around to talk to, or to share my creations with. I've been looking for a server for a while now that uses a chatroom to increase the multiplayer element.
What is your favourite aspect of playing on a server with a vanilla-like gameplay?: I spend a lot of time tinkering with redstone and learning the detailed mechanics of the game. I went through a phase of playing modded minecraft, but found it unbalanced and some of the more popular mods take far too much time to learn. So a vanilla SMP is the life for me!
Tell us something about yourself: I recently finished Uni with a genetics degree. Currently settling into life back home with my parents whilst persuing a career in (hopefully) a hospital.
Why should we accept you?: I'm a friendly, generous guy who is pretty laid back and easy to get along with. I'll help out with community builds/projects and share my resources if you share yours. I'm a great addition to any server!

Why do you prefer playing in a small community?: In large servers there tends to be more lag and chat spam. I don't like either of those things. It's also WAY easier to find people to hang out with and build with on smaller servers for me. And if you have a small community the likelihood of everyone knowing each other is a lot higher which makes for a friendlier place.
What is your favorite aspect of playing on a server with a vanilla-like gameplay?: When there's a lot of mods and plugins I tend to get lost in them and very discouraged. I have never really use any personally and when a server has a lot of them it makes it difficult for me to adapt and learn. I'm a vanilla player through and through.
Tell us something about yourself: One time at band camp...no seriously. Uhhh idk. I've never broken a bone in my 22 years of living which is kind of crazy to me. Just graduated college. My favorite animals are the nautilus and the kiwi.

Where are you from?: I was born at Anaheim, California (by Disneyland), and I lived there 'till I was 5, then I moved over to Washington, and I'm living there right now.
Why do you prefer playing in a small community?: I like small communities because I like to contribute to the server, not just another mindless new player on a server, such as Mineplex. Big survival servers tend to have a lot of spammers, hackers, griefers, and the list goes on and on. I like small communities because I can get to know anyone, and take part in projects, and get myself known to the server.
What is your favourite aspect of playing on a server with a vanilla-like gameplay?: Most likely the resource gathering, and building. I actually really like gathering resources for a project that I'm doing, it's oddly calming, and one of my favorite past-times. I also like to do and create big projects - it's really rewarding once you see it 100% completed.
Tell us something about yourself: I'm 13 years old, and I'm currently in 7th grade. Two of my outdoor hobbies are snowboarding, and playing soccer with my friends. I've been playing the piano for about 5 years now, and I'm pretty good at now. I've also been playing the clarinet for 2 years now - started in 6th grade for band, and I like it so far.
Why should we accept you?: I'm a dedicated player - I like to finish what I've started. And, I'm generally helpful all-around, and if you need any help on anything, I'm your guy - but I wouldn't recommend asking for help on redstone, I barely know the basics. Its more fun to me playing with people you've become friends with rather than a different person every day in a 150+ server. Why do you prefer playing in a small community?: Hmm... What's a good way to put this? The personality. In a small community of players you really get to know people. You form relationships and friendships with the other players. That's just great, and certainly not something you experience in a larger server. Plus, they are often much safer. Your work isn't in danger of griefing, ect.
What is your favourite aspect of playing on a server with a vanilla-like gameplay?: My favorite aspect would probably just be how simple it is. There's nothing fancy and difficult, there's nothing laid out before you. Everything that you do is fully your own creativity. There's no complex mods and tedious things of that sort, just a basic, simple groundwork for you to do whatever you want with.
Tell us something about yourself: I am a homeschooled high school senior, just accepted into college for this fall actually! I'm very excited for it. I'm hoping to do video game art or CGI type production in movies. I've always loved the artistic side of things, and I'm a constant sketcher. I've been away from minecraft for a little while, just because I got burned out on it. I'm back now, and very excited to start playing again, as I've been craving some minecraft time recently.
Why should we accept you?: I'm a friendly, creative player. I fit in well with communities, and while I personally like building by myself, I love hanging out with others, chatting, working on large building projects, ect. Why do you prefer playing in a small community?: I've been playing Minecraft for almost five years now, and just recently started playing multiplayer on a private server of my own with just a couple of friends. I really enjoy the multiplayer aspect and just want to make friends and have fun.
What is your favourite aspect of playing on a server with a vanilla-like gameplay?: Although, I've been playing Minecraft for a while now, I've never really dabbled in mods, much. I like being able to get good at certain things before moving to other things, and I feel like there's still so much for me to learn from just Vanilla Minecraft.
Tell us something about yourself: I have always been into the arts of all sorts. I went to and art school when I was younger, where I got to try out so many different mediums and I just love them all, but mostly colored pencils. I'm a little shy. Why do you prefer playing in a small community?: I enjoy small communities due to the amount of communication that can happen. When on a big community server I make few friends and sometimes enemies. When on a small server, I am able to individually talk and socialize with other players along with getting to know them. I have been on small community mindcrack like servers with about 5 to 10 people which I enjoyed greatly due to myself becoming friends with everyone, but I have also been on a whitelisted server such as this one with about 30 players. Sometimes got confusing, but I still eventually talked to everyone at least once.
What is your favorite aspect of playing on a server with a vanilla-like gameplay?: Trading, Alliances, and Pranks would be my favorites from past servers I have played on. Due to the server being whitelisted, I will be able to get to know everyone and also to talk to them, see what they like, and what they do. Through this I can gain close friends (Allies) who I can go around the world with. Once I have gained some friends who I can trust, this is when we can become close through funny not overwhelming pranks and different things.
Tell us something about yourself: I am 17 years old and living in Canada. I have about 4 years of experience with minecraft which 3 of those years I have played at least once weekly. I have played on a total of about 10 mindcrack like whitelisted servers, only leaving due to servers ending. I am always on my computer, and will play as much as I can if accepted by the community. You can count on me to sell you items, building supplies, and to get jobs done for you. You should also expect to see me build massive farms, with a ton of production and food output (Mainly of pumpkin pie). If ever server problems or player problems, I am always there to help out Via Teamspeak or Skype, like I said before. I have lots of experience with these types of servers and different types of player conflicts that go on on these servers, and I would love to help resolve them if need be.
Why should we accept you?: I believe you should accept me because of the time and effort you can see that I put into this application. No, I am not trying to be cocky, but from seeing this application it shows you how interested I am into your server and also how much I want to join. My experience with servers such as this one can greatly help the server whenever difficulties arise. But I am also a kind guy who is always looking to help, and just be a part of the community. I am not trying to join this server to cause trouble, I am trying to join in order to make new friends, and to have fun.

Why do you prefer playing in a small community?: I'm not going to say that big servers can't be fun, but when it comes to making new friends, a smaller community is always easier. Its just that people scam other people all the time on big servers, you don't get a real connection in the servers with 1000 players everyday.
What is your favourite aspect of playing on a server with a vanilla-like gameplay?: In my opinion vanilla is still the most balanced way of Minecraft. When I play vanilla I always get the feeling that I had when I stranded on my first single player world, just not knowing all the recipes and discovering my first iron ores. Vanilla feels real. Automating and surviving are the original Minecraft, and that's why everyone should play vanilla, its just to much fun !

Why do you prefer playing in a small community?: Well, to begin with, I hate singleplayer Minecraft. I've never had a singleplayer game that I've played on for more than half an hour and since I started playing Minecraft I've played on hundreds of different servers, some being Creative servers, others PvP servers, survival games etc. I remember joining my first ever Whitelisted Survival server a few years ago called Einyx SMP. It was great. The community was amazing and since then I've loved multiplayed Minecraft. This then gave me an idea for my own server/network which was called BizzSMP (which is now closed, but here's the link to the thread

bizz smp). We recruited so many great people, many of whom I still play with now and we looked for the same aspects you did. In fact the members of Bizz still play together on a network called Valhalla which is brilliant, however it's slightly inactive. Maturity, a good and well applied application with minimal mistakes and a clear eagerness to play Minecraft with other people whilst having fun and achieving anything to then have the privilege of saying 'I did that' was what we looked for. Being part of a small community? Even better. Players can bond and become even closer which furthermore enhances the awesome gameplay of Minecraft.
What is your favourite aspect of playing on a server with a vanilla-like gameplay?: It's how Minecraft is supposed to be played, in my eyes. Mods, cheats, plugins all change the game making it something that often spoils some aspects of the game or even enhances in some cases. For me, I like the game how it is. What makes playing it on a server even better is that you can experience so many awesome things not only by yourself but with other people too. For example one of my most memorable moments on Bizz was killing the Enderdragon for the first time. We all had pumpkins on and had an inventory full of snowballs and arrows. It was hilarious. We all died about 20 times and had no clue what was going on but we had a blast on Skype. We had a great time doing lots of events such as 'Spruce up Spawn' where we all got into one huge skype call and did a load of building around the spawn area and just had fun! By doing all of this legit and in the vanilla style it made it so much better for all of us.
Tell us something about yourself: My name's Ryan, I'm 16, mature and I'd like to say fun! I love Minecraft and many other games such as Dota 2, CSGO and NBA2K15. I'm a sporty kid, so I don't sit on my computer all day everyday and I enjoy a lot. I play cricket for my country, which is a huge achievement for me personally. My favourite thing in Minecraft is hoarding items. I'm a hoarder. I'll gather ****tonnes of items and store them away until I have a use for them (which most of the time is to get more!)
Why should we accept you?: I don't normally do the whole "Because I'll be a great addition to your server" because it's too generic and everyone uses it, but I've already said quite a lot about what I can bring to the server, so I guess you'll just have another eager Minecrafter!

Creates a stronger sense of community when you get to know the individuals in it. This is hard to achieve through crowded in game chat or large servers where players constantly drop in and out. Also it usually makes players feel more responsible to each other, reducing griefing and immaturity.
What is your favorite aspect of playing on a server with a vanilla-like game play?:
I enjoy most everything about vanilla Minecraft in survival. I find the mechanics engaging and the game play seems to balance itself out in most aspects. Mods usually take that balance away, but I think the plugins this server uses are perfect for online survival (and I really like using DynMap when building)

I'm a gentlemen. I'm quiet but friendly and not afraid to speak my mind. I find Minecraft relaxing, so this is the manner I tend to play in. Fun fact: I've been stung by 3 bees in my life, all by stepping on them.
Why should we accept you?:
I intend to make this my only server when I play Minecraft. I'm a good builder, and am decent with redstone. I don't find enjoyment in griefing or thievery but I do find it in helping others in any way possible.

There is more communication between players and we can help/know each other, which is difficult in a large server.

Honestly I haven't played too much at non-vanilla servers. But in my experience servers with a lot of plugins are complicated and there is tons of commands to remember. Vanilla is just plain and simple, which I think grow trust between players with their properties.

I'm a friendly person and I like to help others. I like to sell and trade, collect items and build, mainly public places like Mining center, farms or docks.
Why should we accept you?:
I think I'm a good player and I can add something to the server, hopefully. Also I've been searching for a nice vanilla server to play, but couldn't find a good place to stay. I haven't played minecraft in a while because of that, so I'm in hope this will be a server that I can stay for a long period.

Why do you prefer playing in a small community?: It is easier to interact with people. Much better way to help and there is no spamming in the chat when someone is asking for something. You get to know new people. Small communities are always nicer and there wont be any people bullying others.
What is your favourite aspect of playing on a server with a vanilla-like gameplay?: I like to explore and build. Everyone has the same value, no one gets any advantiges. But building a good functional base is probably my most favourite thing to do, while doing this I would be happy to give some assist for others. Im also eager to learn loads more that minecraft has to offer in vanilla.
Tell us something about yourself: Im a social and helpfull person and enjoy group activities. Generaly im just an easygoing person and not too worried about things.

In small communities the bonds are often stronger and they enable you to play other games besides Minecraft and are truly bonds of friendship not acquaintanceship.
What is your favourite aspect of playing on a server with a vanilla-like gameplay?: My favorite aspect of Vanilla Minecraft is the reward of building something that looks great after going through the grind of resource gathering. I may not be the best but nonetheless building is my favorite aspect of Minecraft because I can express my creativity.

Why do you prefer playing in a small community?: Personally I prefer smaller communities as I believe it brings players together, there is a higher level of trust and all around friendliness.
What is your favourite aspect of playing on a server with a vanilla-like gameplay?: My favourite aspect would be the simpleness of everything. Players can get things done a lot quicker when everybody knows what they're doing, as opposed to being overwhelmed by hundreds of advanced blocks, items and mechanics.
Tell us something about yourself: I've been playing Minecraft since Beta 1.7. I know most if not all things about the game by now - it really comes in handy if someone is stuck with something or doesn't know what to do.

Why should we accept you?: I believe I am a fairly good builder - I am also very helpful with things. I am a cheerful, mature, and happy dude that can play on the server very frequently. Any spare time I have on the server will be spent helping others or contributing to various things. I respect a server's rules and the players' opinions / decisions / preferences.

As a result of chat-spam, large communities consist of griefers & pvpers with brief/spiteful concept of casual enjoyment. Establishing a means of dungeon defense (ex: tripwire hook anvil) may seem like vanity on a large server where everyone hide in deep oceans before they #ragequit. Personally, I've been involved in the minecraft since alpha? & I become to recognize the timeless value of small community severs as a platform of casual creative expression that is potentially more valuable than any loot a raider could possibly barter for.
What is your favourite aspect of playing on a server with a vanilla-like gameplay?:
Vanilla-like gameplay allows players to explore the game how its meant to be played. In my own opinion; starter kits & item shops distract players from easter eggs of core gameplay. It's far more rewarding to smelt all the blox for dat xp, slappin em down in the form of some kind of pixel art; than to spend a minute farming for the shop.

I'm a 21yr old computer literacy / engineering student with mild autism ocd. With amplified the sense of value, I find fumbling through a speedrun of uhc to be rewarding/therapeutic.

Why should we accept you?: I have a pretty okay sized youtube channel which I could upload weekly - maybe even bi-daily to. I also love to be part of communities such as this servers'. I want to join another server since the one I was on was taken down.

Why do you prefer playing in a small community?: It's fun to know the people you're playing with and be able to interact with them personally. It also generally leaves less room for griefers, trolls, or otherwise unwanted people. It makes for a much friendlier community in general.
What is your favourite aspect of playing on a server with a vanilla-like gameplay?: I prefer vanilla to mods in general. Modded can be fun to spice things up but it feels as though it's not minecraft I'm playing. It's somebody else's creation. I enjoy playing and enjoying games the way the developers intended for it to be. I also feel overwhelmed sometimes with the massive mods that almost change the entire game. Minecraft is fine the way it is, lots of depth with not too much complexity.
Tell us something about yourself: Outside of minecraft I enjoy playing MOBAs such as LoL and DoTA among other games. Outside of computer based interests I enjoy baking, cooking and discovering new places to eat!
Why should we accept you?: I suppose I'm pretty easy, I promise you I won't make anything unbelievably ugly, or leave stuff around (e.g 1x1 pillars, floating trees, etc.). I can assure you I'm not a griefer nor a troll. I enjoy building with, adventuring with, talking with, or generally playing with others. It just makes Minecraft so much more fun playing with others and I believe I can contribute to that community. Why do you prefer playing in a small community?: You get to know people and make some good friends, something that is tough in larger communities, and one of my favorite things to do in multiplayer games. There is also less chance for people who ruin everything to affect you on servers like this.
What is your favorite aspect of playing on a server with a vanilla-like gameplay?: Doing fun builds, playing around with the mechanics like redstone, and being able to really embrace the classic feel of minecraft. Servers that use lots of mods or plugins are not that good unless they are really well made and executed.

Why play in a small community?: Well, to be completely honest, I've recently started to get back into Minecraft. I didn't really play for a while due to the exasperating donor-PVP servers. I don't really get those pay-to-win servers. Why even use your money like that to just get items and take all of the fun out of vanilla?
Favorite aspect about vanilla-like gameplay?: Interaction between people in a small community is probably up there. Having events like UHC is pretty awesome aswell. Why do you prefer playing in a small community?: Samller communities often become closer and bond better. They become friends past the game itself. I myself, have never passed a group that proceeds 20 players. That group stood by me through a lot of tough times. Now I may not be a part of their lives now, but that is something that I miss deeply. I want that back.
What is your favourite aspect of playing on a server with a vanilla-like gameplay?:Vanilla is the original way to play Minecraft. It can't get too complicated. Everyone these days are trying to get the best serer with the best plugins and the best mods. It just doesn't work that way. While that is all fun, it can get too complicated too fast. When you have a small group who just logs in everyday to have fun and play Minecraft as friends, there is nothing better int the world. I love it and I want it back!
Tell us something about yourself: I am extremely nice. I go to college full time and have a part time job at a local grocery store. I am awkward at first but if I choose to be your friend, I am a friend you can't get rid of and will be there for you in the worst of times. Why do you prefer playing in a small community?: In a smaller community, players are more trustworthy and I find it more relaxing to play this way. Also, the fact that this server is white-listed means that the players are very trustable, which I love.
What is your favourite aspect of playing on a server with a vanilla-like gameplay?: I love to play on servers that require you to do things yourself. In, for example, OP Factions, materials are already given to you, so there is not much room for improvement. I like servers where there is room for improvement and where I can really enjoy myself.
Tell us something about yourself: I recently built an awesome gaming rig to play hardcore games. However, minecraft still remains my favorite. I have a Skype account and would be happy to participate in a call. I am a freshman in high school but act very mature for my age.
Why should we accept you?: I have played on white-listed servers before (pixelmon, regular vanilla). On every server I've been on, I've tried to be as respectful and helpful as possible. For the longest time, I've been searching for a great survival server that I can actively participate on.
