SXSW has unveiled their latest high-profile speaker: former vice president Joe Biden. Biden will be delivering a talk on the progress made with the White House Cancer Moonshot under his leadership during the Obama administration, as well as other solutions to fight cancer in the future. (Biden’s son Beau suffered from brain cancer in the final years of his life and died in 2015.)
He will also unveil plans for a Biden cancer initiative, “calling on attendees at SXSW to join him in taking on the disease,” according to a press release. Biden will speak at the Austin Convention Center on March 12 at 3:30; the talk is open to all registered SXSW attendees. Other speakers at the festival include FBI Director James Comey, CEO of The One Health Company, Christina Lopes, and Halle Tecco on behalf of Columbia Business School among many others.
SXSW dedicates itself to helping creative people achieve their goals. Founded in 1987 in Austin, Texas, SXSW is best known for its conference and festivals that celebrate the convergence of the interactive, film, and music industries.
