The whiny, orange child also known as President Trump’s had confirmed that he will be the fist president in history to skip the White House Correspondents’ Dinner. Well, CNN is responding to this insanity with class and vigor.

However, rumors have spread throughout the internet that Alec Baldwin and perhaps other members of the SNL cast appear in lieu of Donald Trump.

@zachbraff @AlecBaldwin Hey, Alec – your country needs you. Bring Spicey too!

However, CNN has decided to make their role in the event a lot less superficial and classy. In fact, CNN is going to use this opportunity to provide the highest form of learning to some journalism students. According to the Washington Post, CNN will not invite high-profile politicians to this dinner as the network’s guest; they’re going to provide an experiential learning opportunity to select journalism students. How great is that?

Moreover, CNN released a statement on Tuesday that said they “stand with the WHCA 100 percent, and looks forward to being part of an evening that focuses on funding scholarships and honoring great journalism.”

The entire purpose of the dinner was initially to raise money for journalism students who need help paying for school is the point of the dinner. Having them as guests at the dinner should also be a no-brainer. However, over the years the event has turned into a media, celebrity, and political spectacle.

Is this a great idea or what? Looks like Trump’s decision will work out for the best after all.
