Tumblr has released an update for its iOS and Android mobile app that lets users customize their blogs with 3.3 billion unique templates, according to the blogging platform.
Aside from allowing users to add photos, headers and colors, the updated app will also let them update their blogs on their smartphones for the first time.
To access the new features, download the updated app or go to the Settings page on your dashboard; you’ll be able to preview the changes you make before it goes live.
Tumblr incorporated the editing function into its existing app for simplicity’s sake. “Keeping all these things together in one package was important to use. If you download Tumblr for your phone, for iOS, or Android, everyone should have the same exact experience,” said creative director Peter Vidani.
With more people accessing applications on their phones or tablets, Tumblr’s update signals the company’s effort to reach more mobile audiences by offering its full web experience to users on-the-go.
