NPR has compiled a list of the songs of summer from 1962 to 2014.  This was done by simply looking at the Billboard charts from June to August.  They’re currently streaming the songs and it’s a fun listen.  Here is the list to eyeball or you can use your ear holes and enjoy the music on the NPR site by clicking on Cyndi Lauper.  “Time After Time” is listed as the song of the summer for 1985 but we know that “Girls Just Want To Have Fun” (peaking in early 1984 and therefore not qualifying for this list)
