I live in a house full of boys! With two teens and a pre-teen, there are two things you can bet are pretty popular around here–football and frozen pizza. Whether it’s professional or college football, we love getting together with friends to watch the game. And now that our oldest is attending the local university (and his dad’s alma mater), we especially love celebrating game day. Of course, three boys keep me pretty busy, so I love incorporating easy solutions like Red Baron Pizza into our game day menu.
It’s so easy to cook a variety of frozen pizzas, then add a personal touch with some homemade dipping sauces. We love traditional dipping sauces like marinara and garlic butter, but this Chipotle Ranch Dipping Sauce is a new family favorite. It’s deliciously creamy with a hint of smoke and spice, and it’s so easy to make! Just add your usual Ranch dressing ingredients to a blender or food processor, along with some green onions, garlic, lime juice and chipotle chilies, blend well, and you’re done.
My kids tend to go for classic pizza varieties like pepperoni and cheese, but I knew the Red Baron Classic Crust Mexican-Style pizza would go perfectly with this sauce, so I picked that one up along with our usual favorites. Of course, once the kids tried the Chipotle Ranch Sauce with the Mexican pizza, they couldn’t get enough! A great tip if you’ll be serving dipping sauce with your pizza: slice your pie into strips instead of wedges for easing dipping.
If you’d like to serve something sweet, why not pair your pizza pie with a dessert pie? I made sure to grab an Edward’s Key Lime Pie when I was picking up the pizza, since it’s a family favorite, and a great way to end a spicy meal.
We also included pepperoni and cheese pizza in our game day spread, of course. The great thing about Red Baron is that they offer so many options, you’ll be able to satisfy everyone at your party. And I love that frozen pizza is something my boys can make on their own, which means they can help me in the kitchen on game day!
We’ll definitely be adding this Chipotle Ranch Sauce to our pizza dipping sauce line-up from now on. It was a big hit. Please note: the recipe calls for ONE chipotle in adobo, not the whole can. They are really spicy, so one or two (if you like things really spicy) is perfect. I usually add just one. It adds a great smokey flavor and a hint of spice without being over-the-top. And you can put the rest of the chipotles in a zip top bag and freeze them to use next time you make Chipotle Ranch Dipping Sauce.
