It’s not easy to find a nice place to stay in Kuala Lumpur without burning a hole in your pocket and giving you a headache running around house hunting. Most of the time, young working executives in KL are looking for venues that are nice, clean and livable, with a convenient location and easy access to public transport, with some security so they can sleep in peace, and most important of all, an affordable pricing that do not eat up their whole month’s salary. Due to rising costs in housing, even KL people who work in KL are forced to buy and rent houses far away from the city and commute daily, waking up at 4.30am and fighting in the jam. That is hardly what life should be about. The perfect solution, rent in the city, in the place of your choice, and I’d found this nice serviced apartment that is within 5 min walking distance to Suria KLCC thanks to TrupCotel, and online virtual rental platform that takes the headache out of property rental.  Read on to find out.

Over the weekend, I stayed with my small family at Fraser Place, one of the many properties by TrupCotel and it is located just opposite KL Live. TrupCotel pride themselves for being the best executive homes with no extra bills. Having stayed there, I can tell you whether it’s worth it or not. TrupCotel allows short and long term booking, from 1 week up to 2 years, so it really is suitable for all kinds of people, be it students or working adults or families having a shopping staycation in KL, There are six main reasons why you would want to consider booking your stay with TrupCotel rather than your regular property agent.

No 1. Low Deposits

Firstly, booking was really easy, everything can be done online. The website states 4 easy steps, first I just sign up with TrupCotel by submitting an enquiry.

In the form, I just need to state my personal info and my booking type, be it individual or sharing with flat mate. I received a reply within minutes with another form that I had to fill, an enquiry form to be able to help me find the type and location of apartment. After less than a hour, I was matched with my apartment of choice which I had stated, somewhere near to Suria KLCC. I received an email with the description of Fraser Place, tenancy agreement, payments in my email, I just love that everything was done by email.,

Payment Terms

The deposit was only RM399 and can be paid via credit card or bank transfer and can be considered really low compared to if you go through normal house rental that usually take 2 months advance deposit.

No. 2: Weekly Tenancy Period

TrupCotel can help tenants find apartments from 1 week up to 2 years depending on your needs. I think this is so convenient and great, for families travelling to KL for shopping and sightseeing that do not want to be crammed into a small hotel room or pay a huge amount per night, this can be a suitable alternative. It is also suitable for business people having meetings in KL that do not need a long term stay, incidentally Fraser Place won a lot of Business hotel awards. However, even those seeking long term stay can consider this place as the facilities are top notch.

No. 3: Online Payments

In this age where we make lots of payment on credit, online payment rocks. I don’t have to be shocked with a big cash deposit requirement found in some hotels. Monthly rentals can be paid online as well in advance.

No. 4: Weekly Housekeeping

This is one of the best part! Imagine living in an apartment that is always clean, never needing to worry or spend the unnecessary time cleaning. Instead, we can spend more time getting healthy at the pool named SplasH! and gym called Pump, spend quality time with the family, and be more productive at work too. Housekeeping is complimentary when staying with TrupCotel.

No 5: Bills Included

Another best part is the utility bills, wifi bills, facilities bill, they are all inclusive. When my kid goes around turning on all the lights in the apartment, I don’t have to worry that I need to pay a huge electric bill by the end of my stay. High speed broadband is provided inside the apartment itself, not like in hotels where not every room can access the wifi from the lobby. The apartment is fully air-conditioned in all rooms as well. We usually incur large monthly bills in other things such as spa, pool and gym membership, and these are all included with our stay at Fraser Place on the 18th floor. Security is pretty tight here as all facilities can only be accessed with the tenant’s access card. That is good and necessary.

I just love the infinity pool with an awesome view of KL Tower, and there’s a kids pool here too. I can swim here on a daily basis if I stay here.

Next to pool, there is a steam and sauna facility called RefresH with separate areas for men and women, maybe like a mini Jijimbang (찜질방). Towels, shower room, shampoo, drinking water, lockers, hair dryer, even a phone, are all available in this area. When I walked in this place, I was like, wow this is where I want to be to get away from everything and just have some ME time. I think everyone just need a little of that daily.

There are lockers with keys on one side and the bathing area on the other, so I could get myself cleaned up and changed into proper attire before using the steam and sauna rooms and the jacuzzi pool or the cold pool.

The steam and sauna rooms open daily 7am to 10pm, it was super hot to step in but I tried it anyways, and within 5 min all the sweat was coming out.

It was so nice after steaming to just sit back and relax in the warm pool. The Cold pool is probably great for those with sports injuries, I can’t take the cold though, it is pretty icy.

It probably costs RM100+ a month for a gym contract for 12 months in most of the good gyms around Klang Valley, it would be easy to keep fit here with all these equipment available here in the same floor.

Tenants can also do their own laundry here at the SpiN, the laundry room with washing machines and dryer, all at RM8 per cycle each.

Living in the city, sometimes we just need a bit of green and unwinding; Fraser Place has created relaxing balconies in nearly every exit. This is a nice garden outside of the laundry room, nice to hang out, read a book while waiting for the laundry to finish spinning.

There are also a couple of PlaY rooms located on this floor, equipped with XBOX and Wii. To avoid double booking, tenants just need to take the key from the reception at ConnecT and booking is subject to 1 hour use only.

The reception lobby located at Level 2 is called ConnecT, and yay, complimentary coffee and tea are available all day, with some other drinks for purchase.

This lobby is large, with many comfortable seating areas and yes, iMacs for use. This is so important for bloggers like me to work, I can sip on some quality coffee and do my work right here.

The VerandaH is located here too, it’s an open space for people to hang out and watch Astro here, lots of chairs and bar stools for a good time hanging out. A small library of mainly design books are also found in this level, I think anyone can contribute their books here if not mistaken to build a bigger library. Business people would find the business centre located here really useful too.

No. 6: Quality Furnishing

Take a video tour with me.

The place is just beautiful. In this two room apartment, the master room comes fitted with a king sized bed that is so comfortable with the fluffiest pillows.

The master room has its own LCD TV and writing table and a built in wardrobe with a laundry basket, ironing board, iron and even a towel rack.

The second room is made of glass! Very interesting, but for privacy, blinds can be drawn. The writing table and internet modem is found in this room.

The bathroom is large and well equipped with a bathtub, and it is great that the shower is actually next to the bathtub and covered with a glass wall and door, so you can ensure the toilet and basin area remains dry.

I love the bright lighting in the bathroom and so I keep all my skincare and makeup here too. The hairdryer is provided too.

The apartment comes with a fully equipped kitchen. We made good use of the fridge, microwave oven, toaster, coffee machine, kettle and induction cooker. All cooking utensils are provided with good quality plates and glass mostly from IKEA. Even the broom and vacuum cleaner is found in the kitchen cabinet.

For a couple of days here, we cooked and had our meals in the apartment itself.

The small dining area is just perfect for the four of us. The kids seldom like to eat on the dining table back home, but here in the apartment they love it as it was so comfortable. For extra guests, there’s always the high chair at the kitchen counter itself, you can cook and eat at the counter to avoid cleaning the dining table.

The living room is spacious with a three seater and a couple of arm chairs.

We enjoyed our night time just snacking on chips and hot chocolate while watching the local TV.

Staying at Fraser Place is so convenient too, we could take our nightly walks to Suria KLCC as the kids love watching the water symphony at nights. I think our walk took less than 5 min. We actually dined at the mall but there are many restaurants surrounding the area, with Skillet 163 just below the apartment but it happened to be closed that Sunday night.
