The setlist for the first U.S. show of Arcade Fire’s Reflektor tour listed a cover of Prince’s 1981 funk classic “Controversy”, but ultimately Win Butler and Co. opted for a cover of The Rolling Stones’ “The Last Time” instead. They stuck to their original plan last night, however, when they pulled out the Prince cover during a concert in the Purple One’s native Minneapolis. Not only that, but Win Butler wore a digital box displaying the faces of Prince and Michele Bachmann. Listen to a recording below (before Prince inevitably pulls it down from SoundCloud) (via ArcadeFireTube).

As Stereogum points out, last night’s show also included brief covers of Lady Gaga’s “Do What U Want” and Black Eyes Peas’ “I Gotta Feeling” during “Rococo” and Guns N’ Roses’ “Sweet Child O’ Mine” and Aerosmith’s “I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing” during “Normal Person”.
