Creation of a federal crop insurance program for tart cherry growers appears to be on a fast track, and coverage could be available in time for the 2014 growing season.
That was the news Michigan State University professor Roy Black, Ph.D., told growers at the Northwest Michigan Orchard and Vineyard Show held at the Grand Traverse Resort in Acme.
