Have you ever been to Denver, CO? I’ve recently attended FitBloggin’ 2015 there and I’m absolutely in love with the city and all the great food I had a chance to try there. Check it out!

Hey guys! How was your holiday weekend?

I went to see a Fall Out Boy concert on Friday.

First of all, I LOVE live music. And I love Fall Out Boy. These guys were AMAZING!

The only downside was having to wait for them through all the rapping, weed smoking people on stage, but it was totally worth it!

Anyway. It’s Tuesday, Tasty Tuesday no less, and I thought I’d tell you about my trip to Denver, CO for  FitBloggin’ 2015. There is SO MUCH to tell. FitBloggin’ is so so so many things – it’s beautiful people, places, food, great workouts, informative sessions… It’s a whole WORLD of its own.

The only way I can possibly describe this event to you is one post at a time… Focusing on one or two things each time. So today’s post for Tasty Tuesday is about tastes and sights of Denver, Colorado.

I absolutely loved Denver!

This city definitely has an awesome vibe to it and I’m so so so far from being done exploring it, but to give you an idea, I’ll start with food

Pretty much right after I got to Denver, we went to a Tea Party (second time FitBloggin’ tradition) at Denver House of Commons, which is an English Tea Room. I was a little disappointed with my Milk Oolong tea (but that’s because it was different from what I’m used to tasting when I order that kind of tea, not because it was bad – it wasn’t bad at all), but then they brought out these:

and then these:

The two bottom tiers had tiny super delicious sandwiches on them (chicken curry, roast beef and apricot preserve + cheddar). There may or may not have been a fist fight at our table over those chicken curry sandwiches. And cheddar + apricot preserve? Surprisingly GOOD!

The middle tier had scones on it, which you would put all those beautiful spreads on and the top one had mind blowing little desserts.

As you have probably figured out by now, the words “whole30″ and “paleo” were banished from my life for the duration of my stay in Denver. #sorrynotsorry

The food at FitBloggin’ 2015 was just as amazing as it was last year! If you don’t learn anything at the sessions (which I doubt) – it’s worth going just for the food.

On Saturday I was lucky to be part of an off-site lunch sponsored by the California Avocado Commission. If you don’t remember them from my last year’s recap, you’ve missed an important part of my Fitbloggin’ experience. Go back and read it. These people sure know their avocados! As much as I’m apposed to stealing, I almost ran away with them #realsubtle

On Saturday, they invited us to Eucid Hall, which by itself was an absolutely stunning place!

Chef Jennifer Jasinski and the California Avocado Commission put together something incredible. I can’t even call it lunch, it was something out of this world – delicious, nutritious and SO beautiful. See for yourself.

Beautiful grilled California avocado citrus salad to start with:

I opted for one of the three entrées – Roasted Petaluma chicken breast with corn fritters, CA avocado mousse and bacon-frisee salad.

What followed these two was something I will never forget EVER!

This is Coconut-California avocado ice cream with pure heaven right next to it.

Whatever the fancy name was for the chocolate substance, I devoured it like a farm girl her grits after a 12 hour day of work out in the fields. I regret nothing.

I was so full after this meal I thought I’d never ever be able to eat again.

Surprisingly, I ate a bacon and blue cheese bison burger later that night. Bun and all. The sides didn’t fit in, thanks for your help, Jesse.

The amazing Denver food sure had its toll on me in the form of a couple pounds of weight I brought back home with me, but again – I regret nothing. I’ve run it off since then, but the experience of eating those beautiful things will stay with me forever <img src="http://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/72x72/1f609.png" alt="
